Question regarding the disciplinary process (repeat offences).

The situation is as follows: (question is at the end for the skim readers)
FIRST INCIDENT:
Facebook incident in which a co-worker slates his supervisors, calling them various names which would be censored on a family forum. Also uses the line "what a good firm i work for" before going on to say what his issue with his supervisors was.
One lad replies for him to get it off his chest - this chap was told he may receive a warning but in the end just got told to be careful in future.
Another lad replied saying he felt left out - he was told he may receive a warning for this but in the end didn't even get the "be careful".
I commented saying how the OP should book every other weekend off like other workers do, unless he's not allowed. I went on to say don't be late in the morning & that he's so hard working the company would fold without him.
END RESULT:
OP received a final warning (his sheet was blank before this).
I received a written warning (sheet also blank) & told their gripe was that "outsiders" could see the remarks & it paints the company in a bad light, so that they'd then think the company & the boss are idiots.
FFWD a month or so.....
One worker puts on his status that he's giving up smoking (which is about the millionth time he's attempted).
Now when this worker has said in the past, i've always given him stick for being weak willed & that he'll never do it - he takes it as it's meant .... in jest & we get on with it. To an outsider it may seem i'm doing him down, but he knows it's not meant like that & doesn't take it like that.
So he puts this status up.
One worker replies he wonders if OP will stick to it.
Another worker replies saying he's smoking like a chimney.
I reply saying i don't know who does the most talking ........... OP for keeping saying he's going to quit, the first replier for keeping saying he's going to do something (he's self confessed bone idle) or a certain lanky streak of XYZ claiming he's the hardest worker you ever laid eyes on.
OP didn't report me, but someone on his page has. I was called up regarding my comment & asked what i meant & who it was about.
I told them it was the supervisor. They said they knew & asked why.
I explained i say this type of stuff to him daily as he does to me. It's a male builders environment (so if you're part of the office environment & hug & kiss each other when you greet, then you're not likely to understand).
They asked how he could have anyones respect if we say this about him. To be honest, they're from a different world - they work in an office environment where i doubt this goes on. I've been in other builders yards where this type of stuff goes on - it's just the environment big, fat, hairy builders work in.
They went on how i've not learned my lesson & i said this differs to last time as i've not put the company in a bad light, i could be talking about Joe Bloggs for all outsiders know.
They weren't for having it anyway. I was told that this is just the investigation & i will be hearing from them again.
Once the meeting was over, i went & saw my supervisor & told him ALL about it. ALL of what i said, ALL of what they said.
His response? He laughed!! He called them pathetic & said that we say that stuff to each others face every day. I call him lazy, he calls me lazy, we call our other co-workers lazy & they do with us & we all just get on with it.
I told him that i think my only chance here is if he was to (if investigated) tell them exactly what he told me - he's aware of it, it goes on every day, he does the same back & he doesn't care.
Personally, i think the worker who was quitting smoking ........ i think that one of the girls from the office has seen it & gone running telling tales as they clearly wont understand what's going on. They wont understand this is daily banter & isn't one way, so instead of minding their business, they've gone telling tales.
MY QUESTION:
As i'm already on a written warning & this offence is so similar, how are they likely to treat this?
Is this likely to be another written warning, making a final warning?
Or because this has happened while i'm serving the original written warning, does it sort of get doubled up as it's so similar (& therefore that's me sacked)?
Thanks.

I can't believe you made another Facebook incident. Couldn't you have sent people private messages instead of posting it on their Facebook page for all to see, and risk outsiders reporting you?0
-
STOP
anything to do with work or anyone that works in the same company on face book is asking for trouble.
might as well have "I am stupid" tattoed on your forehead.0 -
Any chance of moving away from the obvious to address what's happening right now?
You can't believe it? Well it's happened & i've got to deal with it.
Couldn't i have sent a PM? Yes it's possible but i didn't. Pointless talking about what could've & couldn't have happened.
STOP - yes, all work colleagues have now been totally stripped from my FB account & aside from this i wont be talking about work or co workers or anything remotely linked to work again on FB.
I am stupid tattoo - yes, but it doesn't help.
So back to the matter at hand please....?0 -
Following the first incident outcome did you join a union?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
-
Yes you could get a final warning or indeed dismissal. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

I've been a member of a union for years. Unfortunately they don't seem to like to come out to disciplinaries these days unless they're for dismissal.
I've done a bit of browsing & it may well not be one of the office staff. It may well be the boss, who has created a page for a charity which my co-worker joined/friended, so my boss may well have had direct access to my comments despite me blocking their personal account. I've only just found this one out in the past 30 mins.
I get the impression the answer to the question is "depends"?
I assumed that if you committed a written warning offence & then did it again, this would progress to a final & if you did it again then you'd be gone.
However i wasn't & still am not sure whether the punishment is increased if you're currently serving a warning for the same or similar offence (such as get a written, do it again, it's then classified as a final ......... so written+final=bye bye). If you get me?0 -

Thanks for the response.
I fully expect that i could be bounced to a final warning on this one as written+written takes it to a final.
But you say that this could be classified as worse than the original offence, despite not mentioning the company or any name at all?
I guess when they asked who it was about i should've just lied & said Jim Bob down the street, prove otherwise. I'm not like that though.0 -

Get on to them and create hell, this isn't what you pay subs for - make a complaint tomorrow if you have been refused representation - what are the local reps doing as a matter of interest?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

It's actually been years since i needed to call on them as i HAD been keeping my nose clean.
The last time i called on them, i got one of the proper officers (had had what they referred to as "companions" previously).
The main man at my local office explained they had had cuts & couldn't afford to send representation out to every single disciplinary hearing. They had to select who needed representation the most (such as people getting the sack).
I called them again the other month with the facebook incident (original) & asked for representation.
I was given ADVICE by a nearby office (not my main office) who basically said that i should receive UP TO a written warning. Take a witness.
I asked about representation. They asked when the hearing was & then said they could only provide representation about 2 weeks after this.
I pointed out that i can only delay the meeting for 5 days & then i'm basically screwed.
She said i wasn't screwed & that i'd been given legal advice. Just take it on the chin & leave it at that. If i get anything worse than a written then i'm to call back.
Whatever happened to these companions though? To go representing when the proper officials are fully booked? Maybe this is the cuts the chap spoke of years ago.
The same will happen again .......... I'll be given a disciplinary hearing which will be about 2 days after i receive the letter summoning me. This will be too short notice for the union as it always is, but they will be fully booked & i can only postpone for 5 days.
In short i'm screwed again. It seems the only way to get represented is to be sacked, but hopefully that wont happen.0 -
As others have said, it could be a final written or dismissal - depends how the company view it.
If they are considering dismissal, they have to put this in the invite letter so this should give you an indication. If it doesn't say you may be dismissed, it shouldn't be an option.0
