How long before new phones become 'old'?

I'd say about 2 years, it takes about a 6 - 12 months from release before they start offering really good cashback deals and after that they tend to be giving them away as no doubt they are model that has been replaced by a newer version, and the price offered on PAYG starts to drop, maybe a bit less than 12 years.
Just another note 6230i is due out in the next few months.2p off is still 2p off!0 -
Regarding the 6230 I would say that it'll be sub £100 very soon. Your best bet would be to get one which is in mint condition off eBay (because there shouldn't be much difference in theory between a brand new and a '14-day' handset... if anything a new cover would make it next to new anyhow. In general I would say from my viewpoint that a handset becomes classified as ''old'' (ie, when everyone else has the same phone!!!) at about 8-12 months.
HTH. Will keep my eyes peeled should anything come about at that price.

the 6230 originally ame out around this time last year so probably market will start picking up with people coming out of 12 month contracts and upgrading, probably can pick up some bargains and just put a new cover on if needed0
