Card security, I've said this before, but worth repeating.

I don't take any of those precautions and I've never lost a penny.
Fraud's been committed with my accounts at various times, but it's always the bank and not me that ended up out of pocket.
Agree with Barneysmom, the CCV removal is a cute idea - and renders it much safer if lost or stolen. Think I might do that.Optimists see a glass half full

Mate I think you are a bit too extreme. I work as a Security Specialist for over 20 years experience, and I don't even go that extreme. Because the threat is not really that great. You got insurance protection with your credit card. As long as you can proof where you are at the time. If someone nick your details and used it else where. You are not liable to that, because the card company isn't that stupid.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. My bank accounts are typically empty as they don't offer me any incentive to keep money in them (apart from Lloyds, but they are full to the top, so dare not take the cards outside the house!), so I just transfer as and when needed. Always pay for shopping with my Aqua card, so get 3% cash back on that.Barneysmom wrote: »I never use a cashpoint, but I do pay for my shopping with a DC and get cashback probably once a month0 -
Do you wear tinfoil in your head too so they can't steal your thoughts?
There's nothing wrong with being savvy but I'm surprised you ever manage to leave your house.
See that dark car opposite your house? They are watching you, be careful.0 -

Crazy paranoid.
You're covered with no cost to yourself if someone does use your cards fraudulently so what's the big deal?Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

This did amuse me - the vision of someone at Barclaycard ringing the man at the Prudential each time they're defrauded out of a couple of hundred quid and asking for another claim form.
I think you'll probably find the excess on their policy is about £50million per event.Optimists see a glass half full

Sorry OP, but of you have been scammed anyway, then what's the point of doing all that?! It's very OCD, and most people, myself included, wouldn't even dream of going to those lengths! I think you need to chill out a bit
Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0 -
life's too short for all that pahlava. My security is simple. One CC for on-line and another in my purse for "bricks and mortar" shops. I use my debit card only in reputable shops I think I can trust - e.g. Marks and Spencer, John Lewis (I know nowhere is 100% reliable). Always use cash at petrol stations.
Check all account and credit cards on-line most days, and know exactly what debits and credits I expect to see, approx balance.
Signed up for text alerts when balances fall below a certain amount that I've chosen.
Sounds a lot but all easy & quick to set up and then minimal trouble to use.0
