Ok so my idea if to open my already purchased and ready burger van outside a high school.
I'd use my parents driveway, when the planning people ask, I would appeal allowing me as much time as possible.
I'd sell to all the school children at lunch, they current use a Tesco and 2 x chip shops to buy food from. I can under cut all of these people.
So what do you guys think? I hope to take in excess of 1K per day.
Can start tmro!

What's healthy about your burgers?
I was amazed the other day when walking home around school home time to see dozens and dozens of school kids queuing out of the doors of the chicken cottage type takeaways.0 -
I think you'd be too close to the school. It's not cool to hang out just across the road, you have to get into town for street cred, to play the hard man and to have a fag.0

Well we were just thinking of providing more healthy options than bad, but of course we will need to sell the basic "bad foods".
At the moment the kids always walk to the end of the street and get chips and chicken and chocolate and pop and all that sort of thing.
I don't understand your post "yoyoy" - was it a joke? Clearly I know this won't last forever, but I only need a few months and I can then move onto something better and bigger I hope.0 -
Hope your parents have a very long drive, imagine the smell urghThe most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0

Well they work so I hope they won't notice :-)0

so you want to park the burger van in your parents driveway, and trade from there yes?
I can see a LOAD of complications there...
business rates on your parents house/drive
business insurance on your parents house/drive
comercial waste fee for the coubcil to take away the commerical waste.
commercial water rates.
neighbours complaining..
Storage of the burgers/food etc
Hygeine certificates etc..
Complaints from parents/school
Complaints from local businesses
The list is never ending...
Where/how do you think you are going to make 1k a day? or is this turnover? how did you worth this out? by the amount of children in the school x ££££ per burger?
I think you need to wake up and smell the roses....:rotfl:as it def aint going to be burgers and onions you will be allowed to smell;)Work to live= not live to work0 -
your wasting your time0

Yes, but they would give notice to leave due to planning first?
business insurance on your parents house/drive
Yes I have the relevant insurance for this
comercial waste fee for the coubcil to take away the commerical waste.
Yes I have to take this away at my cost and use their trade waste service, we already do this
commercial water rates.
We don't use mains water, just like any other trailer
neighbours complaining..
Yes that's why will we have to leave in the end
Storage of the burgers/food etc
We already operate and have storage
Hygeine certificates etc..
Yes we have these, we already operate
Complaints from parents/school
Yes this is why we won't last long
Complaints from local businesses
Yes again as above
The list is never ending...

It's the amount of money we hope to take, based on a min spend and number of people that may purchase
We only want a few months if we can last that long really. I know we won't get fined, because the policy is to ask you to leave first, as you all well know.0 -

so basically you want to be a fly by night.. make a quick buck.. and run..
I think it is YOU that is wasting OUR time....Work to live= not live to work0 -
I don't know why I waste your time.
I only wanted to see what people thought, I can see that most don't agree but I didn't expect anything less.
I'd love to stay there for a long time, but I know that's just not possible.
I know that the shops that I refer to serve at least 500 people in 1 hour and a seperate 45 minute period. I hope to share some of those customers even just for a while.
I don't think we can be blamed for wanting to do well, we don't want to hurt anyone and we will be responsible with how we act.
People do a lot worse, like most of these illegal car washes!0
