Just remembered a couple of others things which I found amazingly helpful (although perhaps more for once you get home).
I bought Natal Nurse & Breast Nurse from Boots (also sold in Mothercare), they are gel things (think eye mask type of stuff) that you put in the freezer & they relieve the pain & discomfort of stitches & sore breasts (the breast pads can also be warmed). They are not cheap at approx £10 each but so worth it in my opinion (& I would imagine you can take them back for a refund if they are unused).0 -

9 weeks for mine
just been reading a booklet that came from tesco baby club. it says you need lip salve if you use entonox (gas and air). it also recommends a sleep mask. great idea, hopsitals are never dark! i thought i had one so i dug it out. it's a black PVC one, studded around the edges, from ann summers! not so much a sleep mask as a blindfold ... will i be too embarassed to use it as a sleep mask? lol!52% tight0 -

ROFL! could that have been what got you in this condition in the first place?!
Would give the other new Mums something to giggle at, on second thoughts think of their stitches.... ouch!Waddle you do eh?0 -
Just a thought and sorry if it's been suggested, but I read somewhere (probably on here!) to pack a mini bag for Hubby or birth partner with snacks, freshen up wipes and a toothbrush, maybe a clean t shirt, they might be at the hospital a long time.
Also, I've heard in Germany they wrap the newborn in the Fathers shirt so it helps bonding, I thought that a very sweet idea.Waddle you do eh?0 -

:rotfl:
i hear that it's the current fashion to put baby on naked mum, straight onto the boob so i suppose they bond with a hot sweaty mum instead of a hot sweaty dad.
as for the PVC mask, i just bought it because i was at an ann summers party and didn't want to be the only person not placing an order, so i bought something cheap. i couldn't afford any underwear at the time (i mean i couldn't afford to buy any at that party, not that i couldn't afford any at all lol!). i'm really very boring52% tight0 -
I should't worry about the mask, you will either be so pumped full of adrenalin that you can't sleep, or so tired that you fall asleep regardless of noise, light etc etc !!!It's not WHAT you know, it's WHO you know0

Dear all,
I need guidance from experienced mums on what to pack into a hospital bag for when the baby is due. I've been given a list by my hospital but it lists items like pyjamas and paper pants (lovely.....). I think I have all of the baby items already but not certain. What I need to know is what other items can I take to make my stay in hospital better and more relaxed? Worried bump/baby to be!Trying to earn £2015 in 2015. Slightly early start. £175.88 today.
