You need to go to your GP, explain what's happened and insist on being referred to someone who can get to the root cause of this.

It is possible to do what's known as an elimination diet, you drop back your menu to the foods least likely to cause a reaction (e.g. lamb and pears) and then reintroduce things slowly.
Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
    48 down, 22 to go
Low carb, low oxalate Primal + dairy
From size 24 to 16 and now stuck...
  • I don`t have any specific recipes for you but I suggest you google paleo style recipes as these should be easy to adapt to your needs.

I'm having reactions a lot, all I can do out of hours is go to a+e or the walk in centre, I saw my doctor on Thursday and he prescribed some stronger anti histamine, which I took last thing at night, Friday day I was still reacting to something and after I had taken the tablet on the Friday night I reacted again and it was worse, although I can still breathe. I saw a doctor on Saturday and they told me that I need to stop eating what it is that is causing me to react or the reactions will just keep getting worse. I really don't know what it is which is why I'm stopping anything that could be a possibility until I can see my usual doctor and discuss it in more detail with him as the walk in centre wont refer anyone. I don't want to carry on with what I usually eat until I get in to see my doctor as I think it would be risky.

The reaction is that my throat and cheeks are swelling and I get a bit shaky. I can breathe ok, I'm not wheezy I just feel like I'm being strangled. Last night it came on fairly quickly after eating the chocolate. After friday night it didn't really go away at all and then it seemed to get worse after I had a coffee with lacto milk.

I have just been to aldi and almost cleared them out of fruit and veg!

I had an aldi style mars thing last night, it had milk, eggs, wheat and soy on the label!

Seriously - just go get an allergy test and find out for sure. You could be faffing about with your diet when it could just be one thing that's causing it.
You are going round the houses when you cold just get a direct result with an allergy test.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Sounds like it might be milk then? (not trying to give medical advice!) what happens of you rub a little bit of milk on your wrist and give it a tiny scratch? Anyway, it doesn't make a difference as you still need to see an allergy doctor as soon as possible, but it might be nice for peace of mind if you can get an idea what it might be. In the meantime, I would just be eating very plain meat, potatoes and veg, as I said before. This diet won't be a long term thing so surely you can manage to eat very plain for a few days? Good luck with your GP tomorrow?

But I have to get in to see my doctor, get referred, get tested and then get results. My body isn't going to stop reacting just because I'm waiting to get tested for an allergy. I don't doubt that it is just one thing that is causing it and if I knew what it was I wouldn't come into contact with it and wouldn't have any reactions

So, NHS don't do allergy tests any more.

I have to stay off everything and then start trying things that I might be allergic to and if I'm still bad once I have finished the stronger anti histamines they might find someone to send me to.
I am well stocked up on veggies and fruit but the fridge and freezer are so full I can't cook anything in advance really, which is a bit of a pain, especially as I got some of the veg to make soups with too
I am missing baking, I can't find any recipes that I can risk.

All the extra vitamins have turned me into Tigger, I feel scary energetic, I keep wandering round the house as I can't sit still :rotfl:
