Just found out I'm going to be spending my first Christmas on my own and I'm gutted

How do others cope with this as I have no idea where to start?

At the moment I think I'm just going to work my shift come home turn off my phone and sleep.

  • Do that if thats what you want to do, by all means. Or have you considered volunteering at an homeless shelter or soup kitchen for the day?

Have you got a car, come up to us, we'll be having turkey and beef. :)

ETA I do need back up as my inlaws are coming :)

  • You might find you get some invites even from neighbours.
I spent 13 christmases on my own and can't say I never enjoyed Christmas. I would still do all the normal christmas things and have a really nice day to myself (mainly scoffing chocolates!).

Any elderly neighbours on their own who might like to come to you instead? Any single friends who might like to share your day?

    Chin up :)

Don't drive unfortunately :( part of the reason I'll be on own

Tbh I don't get on with my neighbours so that's not an option.

I'm sure something will come up but just won't be the same

As I said I'm just gutted my Christmas's are always a big family occasion and to not be able to see any of them plus having to work think if I do get other plans I'll just be lousy company

What's happened for you to be on your own? Is your OH
    Now away or working?

This will my 1st Xmas on my own too, I'm actually looking forward to it! I'm thinking... Pjs all day, Ferrero Rocher for brunch, & turkey (never ever had it for roast dinner at home, as am only one that likes it.

It might help to focus on what u may gain rather than what you'll miss IYSWIM? Big big hugs to you my lovely, xxxx
