Ahh you are right, it's 4 weeks for the first 4 years of service, then an additional week for every years service up to 12 weeks. So my notice is only 4 weeks! :-)

So if my notice period is 4 weeks and statutory redundancy pay entitlement is 3 weeks, if they agree PILON am I right in assuming I should get 7 weeks pay minimum? (More if they offer it)

If you have worked 3 full years, yes you would get 3 weeks redundancy payment. That is the statutory minimum, I am presuming you are under 41, if over that it is 1.5 weeks for each full year .

Pilon is irrelevant, they may want you to work your 4 weeks notice, in which case you will get 3 weeks redundancy pay.

Me either, its the maternity bit that is confusing it for me. Hopefully someone will be along who can help more.

It would have been easier if you had baby last year or next year lol

Just my little joke, please dont take offence.
    Good luck with the baby.

I thought you were on holiday?

You cannot run holiday and maternity concurantly like you can with sick and holiday

What is the notice the company has to give you, this may be critical because if it the same as your notice, then as the company contractual notice would be 1 week more than the statutory notice, full pay during notice does not apply.

if you took VR today they could just let the holiday run for the notice.

You realy need to find out how your employer will impliment the VR,

As I see it you get
    3 weeks statutory redundancy pay.
NO statutory full notice pay, so holiday/sick/maternity covers the period.
May get SMP/company maternity or may go onto MA.

when do you clock up 4 years service?

You are right, for intents and purposes I am off for maternity reasons, however I am technically on annual leave. I am still waiting for VR proposal from employer. I clock up 4 years on 16th march 2013. Minimum notice period outside of probation is 4 weeks - I am no longer on probation.

I have to request VR by 15th oct, by which point I will only have 10 days leave left. They will send me a response by 22nd oct, at which point I have 5 days a/l left.

Annoyingly there is a redundancy policy on the computer system at work which I cannot access due to not being at work! I asked a colleague to email it but they cannot find it even though I have told them where it is... *sighs* I just wish HR would hurry up and get back to me.

Just had the letter through outlining proposals for new team structure and we are losing 7 FTE from a team of 16.5 FTE. I really don't want to go back to a job that understaffed it will be hell. We can't manage our properties as it is.
