Can anyone please advise on how to download films onto the BP for viewing when offline?

Which films? From any particular source?

Make and model of your PC?
  • Hi Niftydigits. I'd like the best exotic marigold hotel and the girl who kicked the hornets nest (dubbed in English version). My PC is a Toshiba Satellite M70-394. It has windows XP home edition.

Have you upgraded the RAM to at least 1GB?

    Section 8.8 of the manual

    RAM modules. £10.68 for a 1GB module.
  • Have never added ram but think it came with 1GB. Of course I could easily be wrong!

Have a look. Hold down Flying Windows key and press the Pause Break key.
  • Your right 504mb of RAM.

The PB supports the following Video codecs:

MPEG4, DivX, H.264, WMV and some MKV (depending on the formats in the container).

And FLV with 3rd party apps.

On the whole you can't download to the PB... you'll need a PC to do this and file swap them over via the USB lead.
  • Think I'm going to buy a new laptop when I get back from holiday as mines very slow and old. Tried to defrag last night but only 11% space left so couldn't do it! When I do which sites can I get films from to download to watch offline which are already in the correct codec.?

Not at all true. You can download media directly to the PB.

Add RAM. Make a copy of your important data(to external media), then delete some of the files clogging up the C: drive.
Then you can either run a Factory Restore or see closed for a comprehensive clean up.

Though it's true that the processor is relatively weak by today's standards(CPU benchmark of 430), the RAM upgrade and the clean up will have it performing better than new, for an £11 spend.
