I remember one pair I had the nut underneath that enabled you to make the skate bigger or smaller was always flying off which made the skate come loose and made me trip over my own skate. ( that might make sense to some)
Well done on the wins fire**fly, indie and Sylvia they all sound great.:T:T:T
Had a win myself today a Gambit DVD. Sadly have not got a clue which comp it was from as all that was in the envelope was the dvd an a piece of paper saying "Congratulations you are a winner".
Weather miserable here, rain , grey and cold.
Oh yes! I can recall pals having those skates! One to fit all and the skates were always coming loose!! However didn't dare try them for fear that I may cause myself more injuries!!!!
ILC: yep, it's all getting very worrying!!.I saw on tv this morn that Lulu was targeted and 'done' at a cash machine quite recently as have many others - very slick operation, sickening!!!!!. Think in her case a device had been fitted onto machine and when she encountered probs the conmen stepped in!! Did anyone see that pickpocket programme few weeks back :eek:
Now the warning is: do not go to a cash machine on your own!!!!
Always have someone with you.
I can recall a few months back, I was using a cash machine (mid morning, quite a few people around) and this guy was in my space, too close for comfort, leaning too near me, more or less looking over my shoulder, he gave me the heebie jeebies!!!! I had a bad feeling about him, knew he was trouble.
So, I bit the bullet, turned to him and told him very very loudly to move back away from me otherwise I would shout big time. Luckily plenty peeps around and he scuttled, guess he was hoping to snatch me card and I think he was making out he was with me.:eek:
My goodness, what a world we live inxxxxxxx

well done Sheils/Indie on your wins.
Wingo/Bishopgirl - I remember those days well they were the only skates that my parents could afford and all my friends had nice rubber wheels. I lost my nut frequently lol. I went everywhere on my skates, my Mom even sent me to the local shops on them.
These are the ones I think
iluvcats - watched the Utube clip. very scary. I only go to the cash point when DH is with me just in case. You can never be too careful though. I was standing in the queue a few years ago and the old man at the CP turned to me and asked me to do it for him as he didn't know how to do it and couldn't see too well. How scary was that.
Must go and put the tea out.
Well done everyone on the Inn on the wins if I have missed anyone.

Yes Sylvia they were very similar to those. Like you I went everywhere on my skates. Weird as it sounds I can remember my friends and I riding our bikes and still having our skates on.
I often think that although my friends and I did not have many material things including various changes of clothes we enjoyed ourselves more than children today. We made our own fun, seemed to have more freedom, feel safe and I can never remember anyone saying "I'm Bored". Maybe I am looking back with a sentimental mind.
Well done on your win sheils.Be Lucky Everyone0 -
ILC: saw similar the other day on tv (re the you tube footage).
Conmen hang around cash machines, wait until unsuspecting peep is withdrawing money....... just as money is coming through, one tealeaf chucks a fiver on the ground, then taps unsuspecting peep on shoulder and tells them they have dropped some money. As peep bends down to pick it up second tealeaf steps in and grabs cash from machine and disappears!!! All done in seconds!!!
Ho hum!!!!
Anyway on a lighter note - well done on winners again!!Puddy cat is warming her wee body in front of the fire and very comfortable she is too!!!!!
. It's fairly wet, windy and getting a tad chilly now outside. Looking forward to my dinner and snuggling up on sofa watching tv and maybe have a steaming mug of hot chocolate later.
