You're very organised Sylvia! Have you got the hang of your soup maker then?
That's a great idea with the sledge
It actually makes me wonder how our country can't cope when it snows...how do other countries cope?
I'm glad we don't have that much snow though!
I haven't heard of that club Becky! Is it in the abbreviations thread?
I can imagine why your OH said that....what a wierd combination pineapple and pear mustard (yuk!) I don't think I would fancy it!
My poor lil youngest DD is coughing her head off. She full of cold so I gave her a warm bath, medicine, hot water bottle and she's snuggled up in my bed. Hate to see the kids poorly.
She asked me the other day....'mam am I gay'
I said 'sometimes gay means happy so yes, you're happy' she told me 'well a boy at school said when 2 girls kiss it means they are gay, so I must be gay mam cos I kiss you!' :rotfl: kids learn too much in primary schools now!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
Hope your DD is better soon wingo. It drives me mad the way the word "gay" is used now. My kids all use it to mean loads of nasty comments.
I didn't fancy the pineapple and pear mustard either!
Your soups sound exciting Sylvia. We just had lentil. Hope your soup maker comes soon FF. Amazon seems to be taking longer to deliver things and using Yodel.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Littlewoods delivery for me today using Yodel, they left it in my BLACK bin which I hate as that's the main bin. I have 4 places that parcels can be left without using that, or plenty of my neighbours will take stuff in.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0

I gave up on this one a long time ago! It has nothing to do with homophobia and is just plain confusing though.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

great pic wingo :T
the abbreviation thread was just an idea i came up with because when i first joined here i didn't get/understand half the abbs used
then i found sra's old thread ages ago & when peeps/newbies asked what so & so meant i posted reply & link to her thread, then when blu/mamzie asked for the new CCC & we got it i thought it would be a good idea to add the new abbreviations along with sra's old ones & post it in the new CCC,
Abbreviations on MSE(
1 2 3 ... Last Page)
so that hopefully it'd be helpful for any other newbies/peeps
that wanted to know what they meant,
hope DD is better tomorrow (((hugs))) for her xxplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.

Yeah I agree, there is a lot of banned words that were used when I was a child. In schools you can't say disabled now but it's still used. Special needs is the correct term. I imagine in years to come, children of today will not be allowed to say 'gay'. It used to be a child's name at one point!
My parents live in the olden days too...my son is growing his hair slightly long like today's fashion and my parents thinks it makes him look gay or he will turn out 'gay' even if my child did 'bat for the other team' as they say...I would respect their decision and still love them no matter what!
Thanks fire**fly, I'm sure she will be ok soon

Don't think many gay guys have long hair anyway wingo - think they usually have it very short! I used to like guys with long hair when I was young but all my sons have liked to have their hair short. DH used to have long hair before I knew him though - have seen the pics.
Off to bed now, see you all tomorrow. Hope you don't have too much more snow.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media
