The Compers Inn Part 39

Hi everyone and a happy new year to you all!
After Christmas Day at my mother-in-laws we were put on a flood warning on Boxing Day which lasted till New Year's Eve so spent most of the time wondering whether we should start moving things upstairs. We're near the Thames, but not right up against it. It had overflowed its banks and was flooding nearby properties.
After a week glued to the Environment Agency website they cancelled the warning on New Year's Eve thank goodness so I felt I could breathe again.
I was back at work again yesterday and now feel like I didn't have a break at all!
Thanks to Skippycat I had my first win of 2013 this morning - tickets to a fishing show which are for my brother-in-law.
Already behind with comps despite being only 3 days into the year, but hoping for some good wins this year.
I haven't been around when the troll has been doing his or her evil work, but sorry if anyone has been upset by it. It's right to just ignore it and carry on regardless, but not always easy to do as it can be hurtful.
Fingers crossed for lots of great wins in The Inn in 2013.0 -
Ellemm - well done on the win. Sorry about your family going away it must be a very difficult time for you. Hope you feel better about it when you are able to Skype.
PMS for you LO has had flu over Christmas

SueM. Sorry you have been on flood alert but pleased to here you didn't have to move upstairs. Well done on the ticket win.
SYLBIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0 -
I have a question, if you win a prize which is for 4 people (2 adults&2 children) but you have no children. What do you do? Can you still claim the prize?October2022 Wins -2 ~Tshirt x2 2022 Wins ~ 5 *TShirtx3*7UP*ChupaChupsBundle0

Sorry to hear about the flooding issues SueMHasn't it been hard these last few months. My heart goes out to everyone who has suffered re flooding. I can't imagine how they begin to cope.
Was up north'ish for xmas with relatives and we couldnt believe the flooding we saw en route. Devastating!!!

I think it's dry shampoo Sylvia, always handy I suppose.
avvie I suppose it will depend on each individual competition, but I tend to think that if it's a holiday that you really fancy then enter and worry about it if you win. I can't see as it would worry the promoters too much as it would cost them less. I know others enter and have negotiated extra travellers, so negotiating less shouldn't be a problem.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I'm sure I recall someone saying they entered a comp for a family and had no children but was able to negotiate with travel company.
Well done on your win ellemm :T hope you get to speak to your family soon xx
Congrats on your fresh dust win Sue!I had lots of that this morning after taking decs down!
is it batiste shampoo then?
Hi SueMaggie, glad you didn't get flooded, I cant imagine what it must be like to be floodedI always worry the stream at the back of my house will overflow. I think it used to long before I moved here but they put some kind of defence in.
Fire**fly, I also was studying the spelling and 'certain words' used in the posts. Seemed quite similar to the last troll (or the one before that), does make you wonder doesn't it! Surely there must be a way of checking from the email/server or whatever, I thought they could trace back nowadays? It's just bullying whoever it is.
Glad you manage to ignore Sylvia and the others who were targeted xx
Naughty Jasper run off today when I was about to go out! The kids chased him but he thought it was a game. Next doors have a bowl with cat food in their front garden and he ate it all before running back in! (I'm so glad the neighbours weren't in to see....couldn't cope with another showdown!)
Hi Katie, that definately looks like a spam site. It could have came from a fb game maybe?
Hiya Becks  good to see you, hope you win soonBig thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
