    You're very welcome.

I used to use AVG until about 2006 when I got a Trojan issue on the PC.Since then I have used Kaspersky & all has been good.
I'm not sure re the MS package but you can pick a one user version of Kaspersky up quite cheap eg here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kaspersky-Internet-Security-2012-License/dp/B004YZRFDW/ref=sr_1_7?s=software&ie=UTF8&qid=1357171479&sr=1-7
  • sadly some people feel really big when they pick on others, in truth i'd guess they are incredibly jealous...perhaps of a win or ten the people they are picking on has posted, though who knows. shame they are not brave enough to use their "proper" account so we can all see which user is showing their true colours in vileness. shame also that only the fake account will be banned.

re computer malware etc. as i've caught a couple of the posts above (i'd go back and read properly but i need to go to bed, so sorry if i'm interfering or butting in or anything) a number of years ago i had issues. a few programs were suggested, i was at gthe time only using adaware and avg (avg is now a major resource hog and seriously crap imo, though ten years ago was one of the best).

i now use all of the following and have had no malware or virus issues in years (watch me get some now i ahve said that).

ccleaner....set to clear cache and other things on browser start up, and i regularly run its registery scan (which has never removed anything i need and never caused problems with my system unlike some of the other registery cleaners i was fooled into trying in the past).

malwarebytes...i'm crap at remembering to go in and run it regularly but do so periodically or if i suspect i have malware bogging me down. used to use this and adaware and spybott search and destroy in case one missed something, but spybot and then adaware annoyed me with so many pop ups that they got deleted and i rely on this one now.

microsoft essentials.....this auto updates itself and auto scans regularly, and never bugs me with pop ups or anything else.

windows defender.....i replaced zone alarm with this and find it much more user friendly.

winpatrol aka scotty the windows watchdog, which alerts me any time a program tries to change a start up setting, a registery setting (i think) or add anything to a browser. This way I often catch things like the ask tool bar or unwanted active x things. i like this so much i purchased a paid licence to get the extra features, but the free version is excellent too. and its nice to be woofed at instead of some other alert lol

trusteer rapport......a browser tool which monitors and confirms that various websites are the genuine one and not a fake lookalike trying to steal my log in or other details, was suggested by my bank but i have added many more sites to it, my typos are horrendous and i often get amaxon instead of amazon if i google lol

also every now and then i will run trend micro online virus scan to ensure I am clean, it is imo excellent, and if i was to buy an anti virus product it would be trend micro.

hijack this is another very useful tool, and the tech forum people on here (or many other places on the web) will often tell someone to download and run this and copy the report for them to see so they can tell you what exactly to remove to fix the problem (or something, i don't understand it to be honest but i have seen many users be helped by others with the aid of its scans).

Alfie Blue you are so funny. Enjoy your posts. I have to laugh at you and wingobins with your funny stories (in the words of Frank Carson Its the way you tell them). Good Luck with your Art projects and writing your books.
Well done Sylvia on winning the soup maker. I am hoping my energy levels increase once I am on these tablets. I am suffering pains in my neck, I don't know if it is down to the Thyroid problem or just sitting awkwardly working on my laptop.
Sheils hope your DD does well in the January sales.
fire**fly had a peep in hotdeals it looks good.

    Morning all,

Hope everyone is OK today. Just been reading back and see the pathetic troll has visited again. Haven't been anywhere else yet.
Surely there must be a way of seeing who they are and blocking their computer? Hope no-one else gets upset by this bully.

I fear that Cherrylipz is actually a regular on the forum to know so much about us.

All I will say is that I'm done explaining my illness to anyone. I'm on heavy doses of medication to even banish half the pain I'm in. I agree with PCL that it's a shame they're hiding behind an AE. It would be nice to know which regular user is as vile as this.

I agree they must be a regular but then they wouldn't necessarily have joined. Wonder if they sometimes stop taking their medication or something. Obviously they have mental problems.

    Will see you all later

I totally agree with you LadyM and purplecatlover, I would love them to be named and shamed. You don't need to explain anything LadyM, we regs know how much pain you've been in don't let some silly persons offensive posts upset you hun xx

Sheils, it's sad isn't it when regular posters stop posting because of these mindless people and their pathetic quotes. :(

    Morning everyone :)

Morning all. At last a dry day here, makes such a change to see blue sky ( well, bits of it). We're at the vets at 10:20 for Finlay's second vaccination, one more week and he can venture outside. DH replaced his collar that went missing and we put it on for the evening yesterday. He didn't like it very much but we have to persevere, then comes trying the lead.

Hope we have some more wins to hear about today, good luck all x
