Hi Katie I have had exactly the same problem on my laptop as you. My computer has been going really really slow since around Xmas. I put it down to more people using Broadband over the holidays. On several occasions when I came on the MSE site an American lady's voice came on requesting me to fill out a survey. It was ilitila, I always close the pop up. I have also had advertisements come up. Same thing I just close them down. The last 2 nights I did a scan with Panda Security Anti Virus programme (came with my laptop - only bought laptop 4 months ago). I was shocked to see how many Spyware's came up mostly through cookies. The programme found them and deleted them. Sheils you had problems with your computer recently as well. I wonder is it the same problem.

Read the Trolls posts last night. They were very hurtful and spiteful. Worth keeping notes, time they come on, who they target. I have my own suspicions who it is. Hope the people who were targeted ignore it as we all have a good friendship on here and a slight on one of us is a slight on all of us. I don't want to talk much more about it or I will say too much.

Alfie you could start a new career - Animal Sitting. You seem to thrive on looking after your little friends + 1 huge lab. I would be lying in a corner exhausted and the animals would be running wild all over the house if it was me looking after them.

Well done to all who won prizes in the last couple of days. My postie didn't call today. Do miss him. lol.

Thank you Dreams :A I must admit, I do have fun with them and they kinda keep me young but now they are all fed and watered and sending up the zzzzz's til morning. All is peaceful and happy. As for me, i have a nice bubble bath waiting for me and then to bed for a good read. Love early to bed, early to rise, lifetime habit and suits me well. My laptop problems were to do with temp internet files being kept - CCleaner got rid of about 112GBs of them!!!! Hope you have your problems sorted. You don't expect problems after only 4 months.

Dreams, I always had that on my old pc, lots of pop ups etc, it's too old to run now and just full of viruses. As much as I love the iPad there's lots that it doesn't do, I miss sitting at the pc!

Sheils, Ccleaner is good, my dad told me to use it in the past and it worked.

Well done for sorting out your pc Katie! :T it's good when you can sort a problem out without paying over the odds to someone!

I've just caught up on Mrs Browns boys from the other day, it was hilarious! it took me a while to get it on BBC iplayer as I had to delete about fifty episodes of Tracy Beaker, Dennis the menace, Horrible histories....bloomin' kids!

i have Mcafee total protection/virtual technician etc so don't use ccleaner, mcafee does all my disc clean ups/ quarantined
items/ antispam/ scheduled scans etc & keeps pc/lappy in tip top order,
