No, but I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that someone at 60 henderson drive da1 5jz dartford Kent UK hijacked the folight_ltd account. Just because you put the company name in front of the address doesn't mean it's the company address.

No one ever said putting a company name in front of the address made it a company address but specifically asking for cheques to be made payable to folight Ltd might have been a clue that it wasnt a hijack for those of us who read the O/P fully?

Where £500 is concerned I'd have personally pulled the contact details from eBay before paying. And if ANYTHING didn't check out I'd hold back or pay in cash.

It amazes me the number of sellers that have >£500 items and won't allow local pickup. Like I'm going to pay £20 for a Courier to throw the item round the countryside and deliver it to my door a mile across town.

i would agree that you have to be VERY sure of who you are buying from when spending that amount of money on ebay but how would attempting to pay in cash have helped? the seller was asking for cheques, paypal or direct transfer with no option for local pickup.

Plus for (genuine) sellers, a lot of people like to pay by paypal because they (wrongly) trust it, and i guess they can fund it via a credit card. But of course a seller cant accept paypal and allow either collection or hand delivery for fear of a chargeback.

Ok, so perhaps not a hijack. The guy's obviously been fishy from the start, though - what reputable company supplies a false phone number?

Or he could have recently changed his contact number to a false one? knowing he was going under...

I'd like to thank everybody for the contribution and support.

My son has been to the police today. They refused to do anything, even to make a record, before 20 days expire from the day the dispute with eBay has been stared. They claime that eBay undertake their own investigation first . Only if eBay fail to settle the incident during this period, the police would be able to accept the crime report and start their investigation .

I would say the code would be 0208 as that is what the code for Bexleyheath/Welling is and Bexleyheath is 500 yards from the bottom of my road . My code is 01322 and that would be the code for Dartford as well .

if you look on 192.com Folight doesn't seem to have a phone number but number 38 is an 01322 code

Miaow! I shall stay clear of such threads in future, I clearly can't compete with the resident geniuses.

I didn't check 192.com to see if there was any numbers listed , just saying what the codes would be as I live in Crayford , which is 5 mins away from the Dartford address and the 0203 wrong code , lets just say it was 1 digit wrong , then I would make it into a 0208 number as that is what the other local code to Dartford/Crayford would be . Although I haven't tried ringing the number .

I wonder how far the OP lives from the Dartford address ? Maybe an actual visit to the house would be in order , nothing heavy though .

I bought one of those laptops, and it was delivered fine!! but that was before the account became unregistered. I'd suggests u be patient because the seller was very unresponsive and considering the fact that they are no longer on e-bay. they might not even be checking mails from ebay. You can write a letter to 60 henderson. I think thats the best way!!!!
