Avast do a free malware detector remover which my two computer specialist mates both say is better than AVG and most if not all others. So maybe download that then run it.

    Good luck.

Or run the free online scan from Trend Micro - think it's called Housecall :) Also make sure you have updated your OS and browsers to the latest releases and have all the security patches... :)

AVG got rid of it (that's why I risked starting a thread here to notify you) - but why was I getting it from MSE?

    Hi blossomhill,

The term "thread" is used by forums across the internet. But it is also a frequently used term in computer programming.
Basically a thread is a list of things a computer program needs to do. Often a computer program will want to do a few things at the same time. So it will create a few of these lists of things to do. in other words, it will create a few threads.

The upshot of this is that computer programs - be them good ones or malicious ones - often talk about threads. And it doesn't relate to these forums or any other. If you want you can read more about threads on the wikipedia page here.

    I hope that helps.
