Parcel Delivered to wrong address - what happens?

Options
Hi, i wondered if someone could help.

I ordered some items from an internet company and they were due for delivery today - after checking the tracking, the parcel has been logged down as delivered.

Ive contacted the delivery couriers and made them aware that ive not received the item - but what's the usual protocol - since there's a signature is it as simple as them just going back to the address they've delivered to and getting the mis-delivered item back for re-delivery to me?

Just spoke to the courier company and they confirmed the delivery address as per the parcel label - and the address is completely incorrect!!!!

My address is 36 xxxx rd - the parcel address is number 30 xxx rd and the courier believes the parcel was delivered to a number 3 xxx rd  The funny thing is there isn't even a number 30 xxx rd - the road in question has houses from number 1 to number 22 and then 31 to 101- number 30 doesn't exist on that road - never has done!!!!

Will the courier just go back to the address they delivered to and get the parcel back???? or is this the responsibility of the sending company? a mistake has been made re., the address therefore this led to it being delivered incorrectly - who's to blame and what's the protocol and will i get my parcel back or has someone received £100 worth of items for free???

    Thanks for the replies,

That was my first port of call and they have told me there are no parcels there in my name?????

If the delivery address and billing address were entered incorrectly at the time of placing an order - who is responsible for the subsequent loss of the parcel?

The company concerned have told me that the address on the invoice is 30 xxx rd which i have told them is incorrect - do i really have to scour the streets for my parcel? Surely that has to be the job of the courier since it was them in charge of safe delivery?

I have a feeling i may be held to blame - if they keep picking up on an incorrect address entered during the order process - will i be told 'tuff luck'?

forget about the courier, get back onto the internet company and tell them you have not received the parcel. How did you pay?

I have logged a complaint with them & they said they would look in to it and try and trace the parcel - but they did wonder why an incorrect address was entered during ordering - i paid via credit card

Did you enter an incorrect address? im surprised the credit card payment went through if you did.
Anyway because you paid by CC you have the security of calling your card company to get the payment reversed if the internet company do not resolve the problem.
Remember the delivery is the responsiblity of the sender so they should be sorting it out with the courier.

I dont recall putting in an incorrect address - however the billing address and delivery address according to the company records are shown as the same address of 30 xxx rd - which as ive already told them is not my address - not sure if they are going to try and blame me for the muck up???

If the courier is telling both myself and the sending company they delivered to xx address and the people at xxx address say they dont have the parcel - what will happen? Surely it's up to the courier to retrieve the parcel?

Pay attention to address the correctness of this depends on what you fill in the address.
Value products businesses to re-mail is not realistic.

    Pardon .
