BT are rubbish

We've had BT for the past 24+ months because they've been the only provider in our area and they've been rubbish. We've had nothing but probles with them from having upto 10 junk calls a day despite being with the TPS as BT gave us a recycled phone number to the internet constantly dropping out and the hub crashing. Their hubs are also easily hacked and we've had people stealling our internet since the start despite numerous password changes. They've been really expensive with our line rental, internet and a few calls costing around £45-50 a month and now that we're moving and no longer have to stay with BT they are charging us £30 on top of the 30 day notice period. We're not even in a contract with them as that expired several months ago.
My advice is to go with Sky or TalkTalk if you can.

£30 is the broadband cease charge, every ISP charges that if you migrate without using a MAC, whether in minimum term or not. Not exclusive to BT.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

As Macman says the BB cease charge is across the industry. Don't chuck rocks at BT over that.
Inquireis in my locality say. Talktalk is total pants for BB and Sky not much better. So as a counter to your dvice I'm sticking with BT.
Seriously I've never had major probs with BT - the odd glitch soon solved and they still can't (and won't) sell me Infinity either 'cos what I get down the copper is just fine.
