You can only use it on selected events which are chosen by Ticketmaster. You can get upto 50% off depending on the event. At the moment they have listed:

If you want the 2009/2010 card you need to register at:

http://cards.nus.org.uk/buy/default.aspx.

You can also add on the ISCS card for an extra £1.00
