Good afternoon everyone.
It's a terrible day in the little Welsh town of Machynlleth and I can't stop thinking of the never ending heartbreak for the family of little April
I hope everyone who is ill and the sick pets are recovering nicely, please take care especially while the weather is not good.
I read the weather forecast last night and it promised the rain would be gone by 7am and clear skies would take over. So I set the alarm early to hang out the washing and was met by torrential rain which is still ongoing so the tumble drier needs to be used tonight. I also need two new headlight bulbs for the car so money saving needs to be upped to meet all of this.
Delicious home made soup last night with left overs for lunch today and it will be tuna and bean salad from the store cupboard challenge for dinner. I need to check the freezer and the larder tonight and make a menu list for the weekend and next week and am trying to keep to a £30 spend for the next 10 days.
I hope everyone has a good day and a peaceful and restful weekend

Welcome Jessie, yes of course you're fine to post here - it's a lovely friendly place; pull up a chair, grab a tea or coffee, and make yourself comfortable.;)Morning everyone, bit of a n00b here so forgive me if I'm not supposed to post here!
For Wales, not a bad day so far here, up bright and early for uni but only in for three hours today so not bad, then back up the motorway for an hour to visit my OH for the weekend!
Oh gods, does that mean they've found poor little April?Bitsy_Beans wrote: »Just read on news that they have arrested Mark Bridger with murder

Hi,
Been a beautiful day here so far, but clouding over as I speak.
Finished our week's holiday by going to our local College lunch. The students doing Tourism and Hospitality run a restaurant and we go there once a month. It's silver service, 3 courses, all for a tenner.
Island Maid: I did think of you when the gorgeous Henry came out of the kitchen for his hug. Nice to see you posting again btw.
OS this week has been more about what I haven't done than what I have. No indulgences because 'we are on holiday', no buying things because 'they might be useful', no popping into interesting little shops 'just to have a look round' (yeah, right,) but plenty of halo polishing.
Having had a delicious lunch at College - garlic mushrooms in a little pastry box, cod in the most delicious crispy batter with heavenly chips etc., Bailey's Creme Brulee with biscotti and coffee with chocolate, - I don't feel the need to eat again today.
Have started to knit my Christmas Stockings, so intend to spend the rest of the day on the sofa with knitting needles.

Good afternoon all,
Haven't posted for a little while.
Miserable weather here today. It isn't raining anymore and the wind has died down a bit.
Bitsy, well done to you dh on getting the job.
BB, hope Maud is improving.
My heart goes out to the family of little April.
Tea tonight is pork and vegetable curry. Hubby and one of the girls will have jacket potato with theirs and other dd and myself will have rice. I will try to freeze a portion if i can.
Hubby is at work tonight, dd will be at work and other dd is out with her bf. Just me and the dog
.
I hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

My thoughts are still with little April's family, what a terrible time.
Afternoon All
Went back to work today before I fell into a deep depression about not being well and have been ok but did feel like a little lie down about half 11!
Just made spag bol for tea, DD can have hers heated up when she comes in as I am at work again at 6. Looking forward to having a weekend off work, time to catch up on shopping and housework, not done much over the past few days.
Hope Maud is brighter, she looked so sad in the photo but cosy in her jumper.
Hugs to anyone feeling a little low and welcome Jessie. Take care. XX0 -
That is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. My DD only needed her NI card, birth certificate and something with her address on..... and she got the job. According to the Direct Gov web site you only need a passport if you were not born here.Thank you, the lady interviewing dd told her that she could not even start the interview without seeing her passport, so I assume you would not be able to work ??
Every company seems to have different ideas on ID it is infuriating. And like a lot of others my passport is out of date as is DH's and DD's and DS has never had one.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

For Wales, not a bad day so far here,
Croeso/Welcome Jessie11 - where about in Wales are you?
Wet all day here
but I was indoors anyways so not an issue. Very busy day. Work kids in this morning, I was doing their reviews, they were sorting out work placements and then we were finalising stuff for next week's project. Then this afternoon was various paperwork and packing up the office. We are moving offices next week  it's gonna be a nightmare! Especially as we are still running groups whilst moving. But will stress over that next week :rotfl:.
Home now, very little planned for weekend. Looking forward to Strictly tonight :j:j, have got HM curry for tea, and bought some bahjees and naan to go with it.
Have a good night all

Afternoon All
I heard on the news about April as well and as I said yesterday I suspected that hope was fading for the poor little love
Welcome to the fold Jessie
Rain this morning then we had a couple of hours of dry weather and it is raining again, I managed to get down town on my scooter and get back before it started again
Asda had so many out of stocks again and their prices have gone through the roof  Luckily I don't get much from there any more. I shop in Aldi the local Butcher and market for most things, but DH has to have his lemon tea and the Co-op's prices are laughable.
So many people just dumped their shopping because their cards were declined and people were having a go at the girls on the tills which was so out of order, it is not their fault. Luckily I had already got my monthly housekeeping out of the bank when DH was paid last week.
The forecast is for cold nights from tomorrow night onwards, but I will try to hold off on the heating for as long as possible. Not happy that Off t-watt have said that we are heading for electricity shortages and huge price rises because of EU regulations:mad: The private companies that have been scamming billions from us for years had better get their fingers out and spend their profit on infrastructure or be forcibly renationalised.
And breathe
Dinner tonight is kate and sydney pudding
