I've never blindly accepted a renewal price, but was with Norwich Union/Aviva for 4 years as their quote was the best.0

I'll shop around and move if I have to. But I don't always go with the cheapest quote as I prefer to go with a reputable company.
Same with house insurance.0 -
Every year I use all the top comparrison sites to check the prices of my home and car insurance.
I wait until I get my renewal quote through and then look to see what is on offer on the comparrison sites.
If my renewal is higher than these sites are quoting then I usually give my current insurer a quick call to see if they can match it. If they can I stay but if not I will always switch! The loopy one has gone :j0 -
My current insurer usually matches the lowest premium I get offered on price comparison sites. If they can't, I would only switch if the difference is more than £25 otherwise it's not worth the hassle involved in moving insurers, especially if I'm happy with my current one.0

Always shop around but without any fighting my current insurers always slash their prices by 25% simply by asking and have been the cheapest for the last 5 years now after that0

Don't always switch but do compare prices, sometimes current one is better deal another time better deal elsewhere.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

I just renewed. Comparison price lower than renewal quote, so a 10 minute phone call, and they matched it. £30 for 10 minutes on the phone is what I call MSE. :-)0

I compare quotes and move if then new quote is cheaper but I don't go for the cheapest quote mainly as they don't tend to include the extra things I need.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I check each year but dont change often as I usually find existing provider comes in cheaper. Although one of my cars does seem to get changed every year as that appears to be in a cycle of using year one discounters whereas the others seem to have more stable pricing without year one discounting.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Me, I've only renewed once in 12 years of cover - and even then only after getting them to match their own price for a new policy on the website. The following year they refused to come down on price (their website price wasn't so keen, so I moved).
Been with zurich, pru, privilege, post office, tesco, aviva so far. I always compare like-for-like on price and features - not just the cheapest.
I do the same with my house insurance and pet insurance too.0
