So,

it wasn't an auto decline, are they taking on new customers just with a soft search? Only want to pay off phone bill each month (So I can say I am keeping up with my payments - Want to pay the card of full each month too and my phone bill is quite cheap.. so yeah.

Would they accept me? Like I said, It wasn't an auto decline as most lenders do.

(Trying to build up credit file at the moment, currently 1 star on my file so trying to improve) - next month should increese because I have paid off evertything pretty much this month.

Bear in mind that there is an annual fee (though the first year is waived if you have the 123 current account, which itself has a fee). If you don't plan on spending a lot, it may be better to consider another card.

Thanks but around 4 months ago they declined me. They say they garrentee acceptance that's why I went for it. I know they'res an Annual fee but it don't matter. I only plan to spend a tiny amount on it.

They told this poster the same...

    ...then they changed their mind!

Strange approach bearing in mind this is MSE!
I only plan to spend a tiny amount on it.
Again, a strange approach...you'll be able to offset some/all of the fee by using the card more to increase the cashback payable. Indeed, you could even make a profit by using it for all your spending currently made by debit card.
  • I had the guaranteed acceptance and got it with a decent limit for what I need it for.

my credit rating isnt hot either

Why are you opting for the Santander 123 credit card just to pay a small phone bill each month? It's not just the fact that there's the fee, but phone bills don't come under any of the categories that gain you cashback? So you would be paying for it and getting nothing back at all. I just took out a 123 card last week but I'm only going to spend in department stores, petrol stations and on train fare websites. Everything else will go on my Capital One!

Yes, it's also there on that handy note, the only reason I applied again, just to say I have a card to my name and it's there for emergencies only. No other card has this mark.

Credit limit is only £250 to £500 but Aqua Card is designed for people who wish to build up their credit rating. Just like you.
Have you considered phoning Aqua Reward Card and find out what went wrong with your application?
Try this freephone number 0800 5875770 and ask to be transfered to the right team.

No fees and they give you a 3% cash back (£100 max). :)
Not good for borrowing as the interest rate is high.
I pay off mine every month using Direct Debit.

See threads on this card for more info and advice.
