Hi all, I left sky after 10 yrs & went over to virgin in December 11 as they offered me a better deal.
A few teething problems with Virgin but all in all I was happy with them.
Now fast forward to July this year & I get a call from sky's winback team. They offered me free movies & sports for 6 months all I`d have to do is cancel in November to avoid any charges. I thought whats the catch?? The guy assured me there was none so I decided to take it up as i didn't have the movies/sport with virgin.

Then checking my bank statement at the end of August I see that sky had tried to take a DD for their TV service. The DD had bounced as i wasn't expecting it from them.
They are now saying that they will only refund the £15 charge which I am being charged from my bank as a credit on to the account! i am not impressed with this at all as I plan to cancel the service at the end of November. It just not fair that I am out of pocket! I have complained & that is their response, where do I go from here??

You'll get any amount in credit back following your final statement after you give notice.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • It's my understanding that you can't Sky Movies and/or Sports unless you also have the basic entertainment package. Therefore free movies/sports would usually mean you pay for the basic package but are not being charged any extra for the premium channels. In this case they would require a DD to cover the basic package. Do you have a copy of the deal you were offered in writing? Check to see exactly what it states about what you are getting free.
