If the seller has already refunded and the claim closed, surely it won't make any difference if they were sent tracked or not.

Ok, in case anyone is interested I decided to contact ebay customer services who said that because of the way the customer had refunded me it had NOT automatically gone into my paypal account, and that they had manually intervened and I would get my refund shortly, and it arrived today (5 days after contacting ebay customer service). So I am down £2.20 but a bit wiser!

There was no reason to return unless asked to do so. The money is better in your pocket than Royal Mail's. I would have just left them in a cupboard for 45 days from sale - and then took em to the charity shop.

Many sellers just say keep them, if they know they aren't worth hassle of getting back. Sounds like your seller just can't be bothered talking :rotfl:
