How do I return an item?

I bought a pair of leather sandals on Ebay described as BNWT but now that they have arrived I can see toe marks in the suede insole and the heels are scuffed. I messaged her and the seller has told me to return them. She has not offered a refund and in her original listing she said no refunds. The item was £8.50 plus £4.50 postage (and the postage cost her only £2.20). I do not have an address for her, and she has stopped answering my emails. What can I do?

Personally I would do this through ebay as a SNAD case. You will then have to send it back tracked but would be sure of getting your money, plus original postage fees back."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0

As above, do so as soon as possible, it may focus the seller to be a little more helpful.0 -
Thanks for the help. I have opened a SNAD case.0

She has refunded - claim closed.
You have contacted her - No reply
As far as eBay are concerned the sale has completed.
I am guessing she has decided to refund without hassle or return of goods as they are not as described.
Leave it as it is and if she contacts you then ask her to pay the postage and provide you with an address, but in all honesty I think this is ended and she does not want them back.
Up to you how you leave her a DSR!Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -

I didnt realize I could still leave feedback if I got a refund, I'll ask her again for a return address or if I should donate them to a charity shop0

You can - sometimes refunds have to be forced and that is not a positive experience.
I may leave feedback but if they were no use to you and you want to donate them, maybe no feedback would be appropriate in this situation. Wasn't a neutral or negative experience, but there was a fault with the shoes - they were misdescribed - so it's not like it's an entirely positive situation. (The last time an item failed to turn up completely I felt the same way. I was still annoyed at not getting the item but the seller was not the one at fault and was very courteous in responding. I also didn't want to leave any clues in my FB about an item not received; you may not want to leave any clues in your feedback about a voluntary refund on going to dispute with this seller as people might try it on with her unfairly.)
Personally speaking, I would usually take a seller's request to return the shoes as a sign they would be willing to refund amicably. I wouldn't be so literalist - but I would probably have returned them tracked unless I was satisfied the seller was doing this voluntarily. I would have thought, actually, that you were a bit hasty in opening a dispute on this one - they could have been returned tracked and you could have waited on the seller's actions.
That's just my reaction, though. Other people obviously think differently."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Oh dear, I think I have messed up with this. She supplied an address and I sent them back at a cost of £2.20 on Saturday, but today I checked my paypal account and there is no refund there. And I cannot contact ebay *thru the item number* cos ebay and paypal are saying the item has been refunded and the case is closed.0

If you paid by card then the money won't go back to PayPal but to your card/account and can take some time.0
