It isn't any wonder, that along with the hundreds of millions of people on Facebook, companies love social media.
Love people who !!!!! and moan about social media, don't like it, don't join it, no skin off our noses, you're the ones losing out. Now lets see if I've won that tenner.0 -
I'm kinda with the OP on this one. I do use FB quite a lot for keeping in touch with people. I'm less keen on using it for comping, I don't really want my FB 'friends' to see that I spend far too much of my time online entering comps & giveaways, I'd rather they believed I was hard at work all day! Consequently I tend to avoid FB comps.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

If you're having a problem with a company, Tweeting the MD or the company Twitter page is surprisingly effective."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

I find it very hard to believe you have won all that, but hey ho :T.
When you're doing it across 5-6 countries, it's easier.
I have addresses I can use in most European countries to become 'resident' and can live legally anywhere in Europe or the former Soviet Union on the passports I have (English, Russian, Georgian; OH has Spanish, Ukrainian, Georgian). Montenegro, Albania and until next year, Kosovo, are the only 3 countries we can't magically 'live' in.

We did a similar competition 2/3 years back on the company YouTube, and here are the results:

So these companies shouldn't make us of use what the rest of the world is using (social media) and up-to-the-minute tech (smartphones) just because some people refuse to use them? I don't think that's how it works.
2 minutes to open a facebook or twitter account which can be completely anonymous and used only for promotions or competitions - hardly the end of the world is it?******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

On a similar topic, I hate things that make you register online, you fill up with petrol or such like and get handed some voucher telling you 'enter your code online to see if you have won between a half price car wash and a trillion pounds cash'
Its as much effort as I am willing to type in the web address, then you get the page demanding registration before it will tell you... voucher goes straight in the bin at this point.
I know I can use a dummy phone number and disposable email but I can't be bothered - just gimme the freaking car wash!0 -
I find it infinitely preferable to having to text to see if I win. At least it doesn't cost me money.
If I enter, I like the company, then unlike them as soon as it's over. I'm such a slag.0 -

There's no problem with them using social media to reach their customers. There is a problem with them excluding customers who don't use social networking sites. It's just as easy for the companies to put a direct link on their promotion next to their Facebook or Twitter links.0 -
About as easy as it is for you to open a facebook account.
It's only you stopping you having an account. You're being excluded because you choose to be - you can change that.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0
