Pointless rant about product promotions requiring facebook

Bought a kitkat today, apparently I may have won a tenner but I will never know, as the only way to find out is with cretinous facebook.
Big companies - the Shoreditch cocaine luvvies who dress like Rupert and sell you campaigns based on social media don't speak for everyone. Grown-ups don't benefit from telling their work colleagues they bought a chocolate bar. Real lives are not a stream of Web2.1 Twittarrhoea. All you do by forcing everyone into a facebook campaign with no other means of entry is to tell people you don't want their business.
Ok, I get the message. Kitkats are no longer meant for everyone, just social media Hoxton Massive types. Enjoy one another, please do.

I don't agree that your rant is pointless. I've fired off a number of complaints to companies where I consider myself to be a loyal customer, but who are unloyal enough to me to exclude me from promotions open only to Facebook or Twitter members.

its not gonna kill you to have a go on facebookReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

I have noticed that myself: you only get 'x' if you go on Facebook and Like something.
I dislike social media, and someone else will get my business if they keep excluding me like that. I don't intend to Follow anyone on Twitter.
While we are on this subject, I have noticed that more and more offers are available only to people with smartphones. I only have a cheap PAYG mobile, so am excluded from those too.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

I use an account with no friends, a picture that's not of me and a fake name for comping, under a throwaway email address.
It's not that difficult.

Its annoying but at the end of the day if the point of Kit Kats promotion is to increase its social media fanbase then I believe thats fair enough.
Smartphone offers are an easy way to give people offers without spending a fortune. Having a phone that can't handle those sort of those offers is again irritating but not really their fault. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It's like Dad dancing in public, it's very embarrising for them, don't know why they do it.0 -

For 2 free holidays, £10k in cash and about £8k in vouchers for us, a Ford Fiesta that was given to a lady with 2 young children, who couldn't afford one and does a lot of community work (with a years insurance I paid for myself) and about £16k of home vouchers for some of my ex-homeless last year, it really is worth grooming these companies! I do a lot of the Russian speaking/Georgian/Armenian comps, which you have to speak the language for but are a lot more rewarding, especially if the company is looking to expand into Europe.

I find it very hard to believe you have won all that, but hey ho :T.CKhalvashi wrote: »For 2 free holidays, £10k in cash and about £8k in vouchers for us, a Ford Fiesta that was given to a lady with 2 young children, who couldn't afford one and does a lot of community work (with a years insurance I paid for myself) and about £16k of home vouchers for some of my ex-homeless last year, it really is worth grooming these companies!
