Should have followed my gut feeling!!

A buyer asked me for a discount on an item, before I had a chance to answer she went ahead and bought it anyway.

I almost sent it recorded delivery after seeing her patchy feedback... but I didnt duh :(

Anyway it was sent 1st class on Tuesday and just got a 'where is my item' email. I am pretty sure she is going to say it has not arrived.

Obviously will refund if it 'has not arrived' next week but I don't believe her.

I already left her feedback, but would you leave follow up feedback along the lines of item lost in post, full refund given?
I am a bit worried about retaliation but I would like to warn other sellers!

You could always word it like "very understanding buyer,. Accepted full refund when royal mail lost parcel, once again apologies for this".

    Good wording, alfiesmum.

OP, I agree that the feedback should mention that the transaction was completed by way of a refund after the package was lost.

Even if it wasn't sent recorded you can still claim from Royal Mail, can't you?

    Always trust your gut instinct.

Had one a while ago who had too many NPB strikes, in a weak moment I relented & let him make the purchase.

He paid straight away & then I was bombarded with emails ref delivery. Ended up with a neutral for a 2 day delivery for my trouble, not surprisingly he is permanantly on the blocked buyer list!

I have had this recently too, contacted me after a week for a second class packet when they live on a UK island - alarm bells rang when they said they hadn't had a card (not yes l have checked with delivery office) and l expect a refund. Told her to wait a bit longer.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

  • As I thought - buyer now demanding a refund as item was ordered for the weekend (posted 1st class on Tuesday).
I will refund her tonight and move on - is it worth leaving follow up feedback to my 'great buyer' feedback I left when I posted item?

I wouldn't - they might retaliate by leaving you a neg & trashing your stars.

    Hi,

I received an item today that was sent 1st class on Monday so your buyer could be telling the truth.

I might believe her if it was not for her trying to get a discount before buying coupled with very poor feedback!
