Not bad, given that you would not have been able to switch direct to TT LU from Sky LLU anyway. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
-
No, but you can cancel Sky and switch to Talk Talk.0
-
True but that then requires a new line provision, a number port and any arising charges. Plus the downtime.
Not that the average Sky drone would be aware of that anyway. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
TT are currently given £25 off new line installation (yesterday it was completely free), which is normally £50.
Porting your number costs nothing.0 -
I received my letter this morning
. I'd chosen Sky as they were quite a bit cheaper than BT. That's no longer the case.
Just to let you all know, I emailed the Sky CEO (my mate Jez;):)) to complain about the line rental increase on behalf of my friend and they have applied a half-price line rental for her for 6 months starting immediately.
HTHs. You just can't beat escalating and complaining to the CEO !:):j:j
Do you have the email address that you can send me?
Thanks

Agreed, but the potential downtime is also a factor likely to deter people from going down this route. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Really, what makes you say that?
A bit of downtime wouldn't bother me in the slightest if I was saving practically 50% on my yearly phone and broadband bill.0 -
Hi All
I'm in the same boat with the 18% increase. Just spoke to two people at Sky's disconnections departement who've said there's nothing they can do for me, not even offered to keep it at the same price for a period, they just said everyones putting prices up and if you can find it cheaper elsewhere, off you go. Landline rental really grinds my teeth as I don't use it, it's just for the broadband.
The increase will mean £14.50 for the line rental plus £7.50 for the broadband (£22), now I'm not sure what to do.... There are a couple of options that look appealling - Virgin have fibre BB for £22.50pm (30MB with unlimited downloads) or there is Orange £13.50 for the landline and £5 for the broadband (£18.50, 10MB speed where I live and unlimited downloads) - with Orange though you can get £100 cashback meaning over the year it's £222 - £100 =£ 122 for the year. I don't know a lot about Orange as a broadband supplier though....

Me neither. But with broadband access now apparently being a fundamental human right, some people tend to get a but antsy if they get deprived of it for a few days...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Does anybody know if you can ask for a discount if you remove outgoing calls?0
