The 25 most beautiful public libraries in the world
The 20 most beautiful bookshops in the world
This is what I think of as a classic Queenslander:
Note the house is on stilts and the veranda goes all the way round the house. In the days before air con people would cook on the veranda so as not to heat up the house. The veranda is to keep the sun off the walls of the house, again to keep cool.0 -

The back of my uncle's house is like that, or I should say was like that because he's extended part of it.
I think classic Queenslanders like that are quite beautiful. It's a shame so many have been modified. I suppose it is the Aussie equivalent of ripping the features out of a Victorian house here. They've been modified to the needs of the users but not in sympathy with the style of the house. Where my uncle lives is quite a blue-collar area, they don't do sympathetic restoration so much as making them more liveable, hence the front verandah becoming an infill like a sleepout - probably in the 1950s/60s when sleepouts were popular.

Router kept failing, in frustration I pulled the power lead in and out a few times. Now it works but it has lost all its security settings! Any idea how I reset them?

Chemistry = periodic table (helium, lithium, berillium, sodium, magnesium etc) learnt by rote and chromatography
Physics = making circuits and lighting up light bulbs
Biology = more like art as a ridiculous amount of time was spent (and credit given) on drawing the reproductive parts of plants. I was hopeless at drawing and therefore hopeless at biology.
That might be almost my entire recollection of science at school:(0 -
We never did the periodic table. I stopped science at age 14 though.0

Once upon a time, I could remember the whole periodic table...now I can remember only a very very very tiny part of it and that memory was triggered by the boys asking questions for their homework. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

No idea. Probably. It's such a shame they can't just close the line for 2 weeks and then finish the silly weekend closures.
Beautiful day out today but I can't be bothered to go out.0 -

Have you seen the song for that?
