Oil Boiler recommendations Please!!

We have a 27 year old oil boiler, we're hoping will make another winter. I am looking to replace it with an external combi boiler - and am looking for recommendations. boiler chap suggested I look at Firebird, but I can't find any reviews, my neighbore told me to avoid Trianco... it's a bit hit and miss out here. Can anyone recommend an oil boiler I can use in 4 bed 2 bath house?
Any info would be appreciated - thanks!

Grant, every time. Been fitting them for years, there the best.
Also any reason you specifically want a combi, regular boiler and unvented cylinder is by far the best type of system

I'd agree. At the moment Grant make the best Oil boilers. A lot of engineers will say Worcester-Bosch; thats because 5 years ago they were the best.

I bought a house with a Grant already installed and when my plumber set eyes on it for a service, he beamed and said 'the best you can get!'.

That cheered me up and I've not had any reason to doubt his opinion over the past five years or so.
  • I went with a Grant and have no regrets. Other option was a Worcester but I think I went with Grant as it was slightly more efficient or had a better size match for the house (can't quite remember which).

thanks for your recommendation - I think a combi would heat water as I need it - i have 3 kids all girls and the queue for the shower is relentless!!

Definitely an unvented then, combi not suited, if that's the advice you've been given its not good.
