Ok, so I had a bit of a blip yesterday. Went out drinking with OH and some friends and got very drunk. I only spent a fiver but I'm regretting it today for other reasons! Didn't surface until after midday, however the walk into town to pick my car up did me some good.
The guilt set in this afternoon when I got back from picking my car up and I'm now on a mission to be as MSE as I can be.
I've come to realise that the only way I can be organised with anything is if I write lists of things. The only problem with this is OH mocks me for it and gets frustrated if I refer to a list of things. I don't care what he thinks anymore, I've found an unused note pad and I'm going to start making lists, lists of things to do, things to buy, lists of goals I want to achieve. I started by writing a list of things I need to do before I go to bed tonight, I found it really helpful and motivated me to blitz the kitchen and tidy up the bedroom.
Have started to get OH on my side with meal planning, even dug out something in the freezer for him to take to work for lunch tomorrow because he's usually so disorganised. He'll just buy an over priced sandwhich if he's got any money on him or if he's not got any he'll go without food until dinner. I have meals planned for the week, not in any particular order but should make things a lot easier (just need to dig out a recipe for the slow cooker for chicken which I did a while ago and can't remember).
Back to work tomorrow after a two week holiday, hopefully the routine of work will help me be more organised.LBM September 2012Debt at LBM £10,573.00Current debt £3,250 (29/12/20)Current savings £4,950 (29/12/20)0 -
Before I start winding down for the evening a list of all the things I'm going to do this week to help me in my quest to become debt free
- Keep heating off as long as possible - changed to winter duvet today so should notice the difference at night, also find the kitchen to be really warm while cooking dinner so this will encourage us to eat in there rather than in front of the TV. Also find lighting candles in the living room helps make it a bit warmer
- Try and have some NSDs this week. Got meals planned just haven't decided when we're having each meal, just need to get few ingredients for some of the days so that "should" mean I don't need to shop everyday.
- Go the the gym after work 3 days this week and use the shower there- the gym itself isn't strictly money saving bu having 3 showers there is 3 showers I'm not taking at home. It only costs £10.99pm (and the showers are much better than the one at home)!!!!
- Keep up to date with online surveys etc. Signed up to swagbucks on Monday and close to getting £5.00 Amazon voucher already.
- Try and find more stuff to put on ebay or trade on books with Amazon

Lists are awesome! If I never wrote a list I'd never get anything done!!
What I really wanted to ask is how do you get so much on SB? I went on it for a bit but gave up as I seemed to be getting no points / very few, and then it took over my laptop! But everyone seems to do really well!!September 2016 GC £21.37/£1200 -
Hi Frugal Saver
Hope you don't mind if I *subscribe*0 -
Haven't been on here for a few days, now that I'm back at work I find I don't have enough time.
Still haven't had a NSD but I have noticed that I have cut back on my spending and I feel more organised.
Put off going to the gym until today but feel better for it now.
Think I finally might have worked out how to get the most out of Swagbucks thanks to the post on MSE. Already cashed in £5.00 Amazon voucher. Hopefully I'll get enough to buy all my xmas presents on there.
Got a bid on one of my DVDs on ebay already even though it doesn't end until Saturday so I'm guaranteed something.
I'm hoping to have NSD tomorrow as lunch is leftover dinner and don't need to get anything for dinner.LBM September 2012Debt at LBM £10,573.00Current debt £3,250 (29/12/20)Current savings £4,950 (29/12/20)0 -

Oooo do tell! How did you make the most of it? I have to spend ages playing games etc and only get a few swag bucks a time. What's the secret? Where's the post?0 -
Good morning FS
Its great that you have cut back on your spending, and are feeling more organised
I am interested in 'Swagbucks'...what is it and how do you earn vouchers?0 -
Good morning
Glad you got the hang of SB I've been doing it about 6 months and only had 2 £5 vouchers I must be rubbish lol!0 -
Hi Everyone.
Had a NSD today :j
Tomorrow wont be though, I've got to get a new tyre for my car
The Swagbucks post in 'up your income' is really helpful. When I first joined the first page of the post didn't make any sense to me but now that I'm more familiar with SB it makes more sense.
Tried going in HSBC on my lunch break today to reduce my overdraft but they said there would probably be a 1/2 wait, not really how I want to spend my lunchtime.LBM September 2012Debt at LBM £10,573.00Current debt £3,250 (29/12/20)Current savings £4,950 (29/12/20)0 -
