Every time I see all the adverts for Harveys on the TV at the moment it makes me sick to my stomach. How on earth is this company still trading? They should invest some of their advertising budget in decent staff training and customer service. Then again, that wouldn't attract more customer to be ripped off by their shabby products and absolutely shocking service.

Then think yourself EXTREMELY lucky. They have a very poor reputation, have been featured on watchdog and have very poor reviews wherever you look.
I had to take them to Court and Im not the only one.4kW 8.33 Eternity (2.5kW SSE 1.5kW WSW). Glinton, Cambridgeshire.0 -
I bought a £900 sofa from Harveys last year. The sofas great but the service wasn't.
I had to wait much longer than expected for the sofa to be delivered. Harveys then arranged for a delivery date of which we waited and waited but no sofa showed up. I think we had to allow for another 2 or 3 weeks for it to show up.0 -
I've never had any problems and i've bought a few things from them.0

I will never go back to Harveys after buying a Sofa many years ago and getting conned into taking out the £140 insurance which is refundable in 5 years if you do not claim. Several weeks after the purchase I received a letter in the post with policy details that had a page at the back of all the leaflets still needing to be signed to validate the refund, needless to say I did not notice this for around 2 years(you have to sign and return in around 3 weeks or kiss goodbye to your money) I have tried calling the company in charge of this con trick and just get enraged by the attitude of the staff I speak to, BE WARNED AND DO NOT BUY THIS TYPE OF NONSENSE.0

My brother in law works for them and we wont touch them with a barge pole. He dont care about the product he just cares about his commision and will say anything to get a sale.
All that aside our transport company did some work for Harveys warehouse doing some urgent last minute deliverys, and we had to take them to court and then send in debt collectors to get our payments.
It seems they really need to get their act together.Sarah0 -
I did a search for Harveys on Google and when this site appeared I thought I'd have a quick look as a colleague had real problems with 2 sofa sets from them. Thank goodness I did! :T I was just about to order 4 of their slider wardrobes.
Although they are exactly what I need I've now changed my mind. :rotfl:
The search continues! :cool:0 -
We bought a sofa and chair from harveys just after christmas,i accepted the 10 week wait for it as i figured that they were obviousley busy being christmas. It arrived on the tenth week only for the delivery men to decide they couldent get it in,i told them to leave it so we could get it in ourselves and they said that because i hadent specified this on purchase they could only take it away again, yet they also took the chair back which would have of course fitted, but they didnt even try.I phoned harveys and was dealt with by a really unhelpfull and belittling manager who told me it was my own fault as i obviousley hadent measured it properly! I arranged another delivery for 2 weeks later, now totalling a 12 weeks wait and made it clear it should be left regardless of it fitting through the door, only to find that when it came another set of incompitent delivery men could not get it in.Completley unbothered they left it behind on the door step for us to get in,30 minutes later it was sat in my front room, unrapped, with me on top of it,thanks to myself and my partner.HARVEYS ARE USELESS!!. A piece of advice if you are buying something from harveys, the sizing on their website for sofas is different to the sizing on the info cards provided in store so do it your self and take a tapemeasure in store so you know its accurate. An inch can be the differance to it going through the door and you sat on the sofa on the door step!!!0
