As if!!!!
What's the world coming to. If I'd asked where to see a football match which often involves racial abuse, swearing and violence (and that's just on the pitch) would anyone have batted an eyelid - no. But the location of a traditional rural pastime (OK not in Britain where sheep tend to figure more often) is deemed a problem!0 -

I think your mind is on your gongle, again.0 -
I've never seen a bull fight but I would like to. I am familiar with 'rural pursuits' but have an open mind.0

Never seen a bull fight? Have a look around the great British countryside, next time your in it. Plenty of bulls struggling with their unreluctant 'partners'. Being a country lad, I can assure you, thats where semi skimmed milk comes from.0 -

Not France, but of interest to those into it.
The Fiesta San Isidra , in Madrid around the middle of May, theres daily bull fighting as well as a real party atmosphere around the town.
Is it cruel?
The way I see it, up to the fight, these bulls are looked after really well and then its them against the Matador.
Compare that to the miserable life many factory farmed cattle lead, before slaughter.
If I was a bull, Id prefer the first option0 -
They run the bulls on Easter Monday in the Camargue. Beautiful place.
Also in the area is Saintes-Maries-la-mer. They have some amazing traditional pilgrimages, including one commemorating Sarah, who, myth has it, was the Maries' maid and is the patron saint of gypsies.
There are bullfights there as well, but I've not been to one.

So,dying a slow painful death from stab wounds that cause so much blood loss that you end up on your knees and choking on your own blood you are vomiting up,whilst your lungs are so full of blood you drown in it,is entertainment, yes? worth going to Spain or France for ? Just to see what it is all about?
If you want to know how much of a "sport" it is,try reading this.
