  • Hello all!

My meal plan for this week (WC14 th April):

Saturday: Beef casserole from freezer with jacket potato and green beans for OH, Veg chilli from freezer with rice for me

Sunday: We go to OH's parents for dinner and bring the leftover chicken home. I make pudding - this week proably some kind of crumble as I've got loads of frozen fruit in the freezer.

Monday: Pork chop (from freezer), potato and carrots for OH, ratatuoille and baked sweet potato for me (possibly some soup from freezer mid afternoon)

Tuesday: Trout (from freezer), sauteed potatoes and salad (from garden)

Wednesday: Baked potato with beans and cheese with salad (from garden)

Thursday: Sausages, potato and veg for OH, Soup and Home made bread for me

Friday: Tuna steaks (from freezer), wild rice (from cupboard - freeze leftovers), salad (from garden)

The theory here is I shouln't have to go shopping this week for main meals - just for lunch making ingredients for OH to take to work.
    October grocery challenge(started 17/10/07):
    Asda - £11.98
    Aldi - £10.36

Parking pot: £1.00 (everytime I walk into town instead of parking on pay and display, I put the money saved in a jar)
  • note to self: do not refer to fish stew as fish stew... better bouillabasse (can't even spell it, never mind pronounce it!). Certainly do not ever refer to it as 'hastily constructed fish stew'.
Aim - to reassure DH that there would not be a long wait for his supper. Actual result 'Have you any idea how unappetising that sounds? I don't know about you, but I'd rather have Chinese....'.
Still, I got away with 6 days out of 7! Onwards and upwards...
12 years down the line and I have learned more about my marriage in the last 3 weeks of participating in the MSE forums than I have at any other time.... :rotfl:
