I am with T-Mobile at the end of my contract with a £15 SIMonly iPhone plan 600min 500text unlimited internet (3GB fair usage ) and freebooster of 60min of calls to Europe mobiles and landlines. I have just signedwith Virgin Media for broadband, TV and phone and I am thinking of taking a SIMonly mobile deal with them too. So my questions are:

Do you know how to make cheap international calls (Europe)from Virgin mobile? And texts?

What the Unlimited Mobile Web means? Is there a fair usagepolicy?

Thanks for your help.

One way is to use a 01/2 access number from your inclusive minutes.

    EG http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php or www.localphone.com

Plus you could also use the 18185 0808 freephone number from your Virgin Landline to cut call charges to numbers that are not inclusive.

You can use a calling card from a Virgin mobile. Use your inclusive minutes to dial the access number. You should be able to dial most landlines for around 1p/min. If you make a lot of International calls there are several companies offering 'unlimited' calls to some destinations (mainly landlines) for £10 for 30 days. Not sure if I'm allowed to post links or not but if you Google 'unlimited international calls' I'm sure something will come up.
  • I can answer the unlimited mobile data question only, I'm afraid. It's truly unlimited and you can tether it also.

Thanks a lot to you 3 for your answers. Really helpful. For the access numbers it's just that I read that most of them weren't alllowed with Virgin mobile, but I'll try your suggestions.

Most companies will not allow you to purchase international calling credit using SMS from a Virgin Mobile as the amount they receive from Virgin is much less than they receive from the other networks. You can still buy a calling card from a local shop or buy on-line using Paypal or credit/debit cards.
