£12.00 Late Payment fee - Very.co.uk

Of course you do if you're paying cash. How else will they receive the money otherwise? They don't except cash by post by the way, and even if they did, that would be dumb.
I had no problem making payment, the money was available. I've never had a problem making a payment before because I have always received my statements. Don't send me a statement, don't expect to get paid.
The fact that I haven't received my statement is either down to them not sending it; or, the carrier loosing it in transit. Therefore, why should I pay for someones mistake?0 -

or a misprint,damaged address,mispackaged envelopes etc etc
If you choose to limit your payment options then its your lookout to make sure you can make the payments.
You simply didnt bother regardless of getting a statement, and as such were left with no time to order a payment slip or look at other methods0 -
How have I limited my payment methods?
OK, so I don't hold a bank account. I'm not obliged to!
I tried printing an online statement, but it does not offer the giro slip. I cannot help that.
They state I need a slip, if I do not require a slip then they should say so under where it says 'ways to pay'. It does not state that I can still pay without a slip, so therefore I take it that I cannot pay without this little piece of paper.
Petty? Maybe! Do I care? No!
I also asked them what I can do if I do not receive a statement next time, they failed to answer this part of my e-mail. I guess because they cannot provide me with an answer!0 -

Enough to respond...lol0 -

You can pay cash into anyone's account without a "giro" slip. Just go into the bank and do it. It's not hard.
If you don't keep your accounts up to date, then you're charged. It's really quite simple. It's up to you to take responsibility for your financial obligations. If you can't keep up with them, then don't ask companies to lend you money and just spend what you can actually afford (it will save you a packet on late payment charges in the long run).
BTW - have you checked whether the missed payment is going to be on your credit report for the next 6+ years?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
It does not state that under the section where it says 'ways to pay'. It clearly states I need a slip. Therefore I assume I cannot pay without it. If I can, then they should state this, otherwise how am I supposed to know. Am I pretending to be ignorant? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, they should state it.You can pay cash into anyone's account without a "giro" slip. Just go into the bank and do it. It's not hard.
This is why I love law so much, its all about using and the manipulation of words....lol
Also, its not a case of affording it as this is no issue
As stated the money was readily available! 0 -

I couldn't say whether you are pretending to be ignorant or whether you just are. Only you will know that. As you've been told, you don't need a special giro slip to pay anyone.
If money is no issue, what are you borrowing money off companies like Very for in the first place? Especially if you can't keep your accounts in order?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Then they should state this. All I can see is:As you've been told, you don't need a special giro slip to pay anyone.
By Post: Complete the payment slip and send it with your cheque to Payment Department, Sandringham House, Sandringham Avenue, CHELMSFORD, CM92 1LJ. Please make cheques payable to Very and write your account number on the front of your cheque. A small charge of 25p per cheque will be added to your account and will appear on your next statement. Please not – all cheques are cashed on receipt; we do not hold post-dated cheques.
This suggests to me that I need a payment slip. This payment slip is my only method of payment without a bank account. As I have no other way of accessing one, it is their responsibility to supply me with one if I require it, which according to them, I do! It says so above.
Regarding the question:
I could have brought it out right; however, there are many other things that I also want to spend my money on.If money is no issue, what are you borrowing money off companies like Very for in the first place?
As for my accounts, they are all in order. I do not have a problem with anyone else and I am happy with the service I receive (excluding very.co.uk of course).0 -
What it "suggests" to you is irrelevent.
Why didn't you call them when your statement didn't show up?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0
