I have put my new shoes out on the carpet in front of me so I can keep looking at them and planning outfits with them.Part of the pleasure is admiring them, not putting them away out of sight! I am very pleased I bought them, but at that price it would have been rude not to...LOL

LOL!! A girl after my own heart!!

I'm watching this thread though I've nothing useful to add. I've lost a lot of weight (and hoping to lose more) so most of my clothes doesn't fit. I'm determined not to spend a lot of money on in-between sizes, so the big thing for me will be when I'm near target weight, when I'll be replacing everything in my wardrobe (gradually, not in one big spend up!) and tbh its so long since I was a normal size, I've forgotten how to shop for clothes. I'm so looking forward to buying clothes because I like it, not just because it fits.

Well done on the weight loss Rosie. :T When you are ready to buy clothes I really recommend ebay. I do get some stuff from Charity shops but they never seem to have good quality brands. On ebay I often get clothes that have been worn once or twice but because they are Boden, Per Una, Coast etc they have plenty or wear in them. I've even sold them on again when I've gone off them and they're still going strong. :D

Oh Rosie, I know how you feel. My DH has lost a far bit of weight recently and he says the same thing, he had short arms and legs for his chest/waist measurements and so bought things just because they fitted him. Now that he has lost weight he can walk into Next etc and buy something off the shelf just for the hell of it!!!

Three years ago, when I first decided to go back to the gym and lose some weight, my OH said he would buy me whatever clothes I wanted once I lost the weight...and he was as good as his word.

My problem then was that I could not see my new shape and kept buying things that were too big for me, or that just did not feel like the 'new' me. It took me a long time to get it right . The image in my mind was still the old me and I kept on shopping for her.

I get a lot of ideas from the you tube videos on what to wear and other fashion tip ones on there. If you want real entertainment look for the ''t shirt circumciser '' videos. They amazed me. I had a go last year and other people would stop me in the street to ask where I had got the unique t shirt creations from...they were old baggy tshirts I was going to dump before I took the scissors to them!

Pink, thank you very much for moving us!

I am the same Rosieben - None of my clothes fit me anymore, so I have to buy new. The thing is I want to lose another 5 stone, so need clothes for about 6 months at a time as I get smaller. All of my clothes have gone to charity shop, and i have been slowly replacing a few from outlet stores, ebay and sales. Its not worth me spending alot as they won't fit for long. It's difficult though, and i have to learn my style now that I am thinner.

I sorted out a few of my old clothes and took them in a big bag down to the bins. In this village they are outside the village and there is a form of Greek recycling. If you have anything useful like clothes/shoes you put them in a neat pile on the wall near to the bins and people take them to use them.

I was just taking them out of the bag and folding them on the wall when a lady asked me if they were mine. I said yes and she asked if it was okay to take them all as she was about the same size as me. I said yes and she was thrilled to get them . Pleased someone can use them instead of them taking up space in my drawer.

Now I have sorted most of my clothes and got rid of the ones I don't want I am going to keep on top of it by checking everything when I wash and dry them. If they are showing a lot of wear or not what I want any more I am going to take them to the bins if I can't remodel them in some way. It will keep clutter down and I will know what clothes I have that are still in good condition.

I will be packing away my summer shorts and thin clothes soon and getting out some of my winter things. I will keep them in the wardrobe if they can be layered but I really have problems figuring out what to wear in combination if I layer things. I have problems co ordinating the layers. I hope to pick up some good ideas from you on here.

I have decided to put my brightly coloured vests and camis in a drawer so I can use them under cardis and other things to add a bit more colour to my outfits.

I have lots of jackets, mostly hip length ones....I hate wearing full length coats I feel suffocated in them. If it gets really cold them I will wear knee length boots with trousers tucked in or thick leggings with my new fur lined leather boxer boots.

    Today I am wearing
    Black stretch dance trousers
    Leather ballet slippers
black sleeveless top with roses on it and studs around collar
and a long silk scarf with roses on, holding my hair back in a pony tail.

Do you have a link to this book, please? Amazon is drawing a blank.

    Mildred, I'm 99% sure it's this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Suzie-Woodwards-Wardrobe-Strategy-Woodward/dp/0894260510/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349263057&sr=8-1 . It'd be helpful if I could see the cover/blurb.

The other book that really made things "gel" for me was The Colour And Style File by Barbara Jacques. Amazon link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Colour-Style-File-Wardrobe/dp/0861888995/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1349263377&sr=1-1. (Weirdly, Amazon show the cover in the search screen but not on the product page.) I learned more about how to dress for my body type from this book than from any other. In most books, they only look at your shape one-dimensionally, i.e. you're either short waisted or pear shaped or curvy or big busted - you're never in more than one category. In this book, they explain how to dress for all the components of your shape.

Colour and Style File also covers your colours in a different way, i.e. in their system I'm a "bright dark". In the Colour Me Beautiful system, I started off as a straight winter but got reclassified twice when they changed the system. I think the Colour and Style File classification is more accurate.
