it's more or less that, except she's forcing me to stay

Social fund told me I couldn't apply until I got somewhere 1st. She knows how impatient I am, I would have slept on a concrete floor with just a single duvet.

Shes being nasty and nice at the same time

Tell her you've got the loan, have ordered the bed and will be moving out in x days time then. Problem solved! :D

There is no reason why you can't manage on the floor for the time being - I'm sure you will survive!

So, effectively, she has left you, the kids and the home - gone to stay elsewhere until you get what you need to move out? Why not stay where you are then, with the kids, change the locks and she can make the rules for her own life (not yours) and get a place of her own?

Sorry - but what parent abandons their kids at such a time of turmoil in their lives, and puts restrictions on how you live once your relationship is over?

Or......is she insisting that you have proper furniture so that when the kids visit THEY have some comforts?

Lol my freecycle ad got rejected

I'm not going to lock her out of the house, I am moving to my home area.

Think I'm going to pop down to CAB to see if they have any ideas tomorrow

Try the salvation army. I know they used to do "house packs" for about £80, which contained the basics (secondhand but really good) to move into somewhere with nothing. I used them years ago, got a bed, table and chairs and small sofa. they also did kitchen ones with plates etc. Maybe worth giving them a ring, see if there is a scheme similar nearby. good luck x
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

tell ex you are moving, she can't make you stay, if she refuses to come back to care for HER children, tough, tell her you will be calling social services because you won't be able to take the children to an unfurnished house, see how quickly she returns

as others have said your tenancy has started so effectively you HAVE moved in, your just not sleeping there at the moment, can't see any reason why they need to know that bit

your not helping yourself by allowing the ex to tell you what to do, you are not forced to stay, your allowing yourself to be told this.

Move on, if she is neglecting her children just because you two have issues has nothing to do with you.

  • inflatable mattress from argos.

bean bags as seats from b an m.

    adsa cutlary.

    £9 for a kettle.

    freecycle for fridge and freezer.

TBH i'd record the next conversation that states she's not coming home untill your sorted out with grants then call social services and request help from them to get you and your kids set up in the flat asap.
  • I thought I'd better update yall. I am moving in tomorrow (Friday)
bean bags as seats from b an m.
