  • I have an O2 contract which gives 100's of free off-peak minutes.

I use WAP in the off-peak time and I have never been charged.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get free or extremly cheap gprs access?

I am asking because I have got the new N95 phone but when using the phone for navigation it seems to download quite abit ive done 5mb in 2days which is approx £4 as im on o2.

I will greatly appreciate any help or advice

Get a micro sd card, use maploader that is on the CD, download the maps you want to your phone and you pay nothing unless you want voice commands.

From 1st June Vodafone charge £1 per day for up to 15 meg, apparently soon they will be bringing out a new monthly subscription package.

I agree it's a bit rubbish they will be charging to access their own pages, but general access prices are coming down, so I suppose they have to recoup some of the loss somewhere. What annoys me more is they won't take usage out of your text messages bundle any more either, so unused texts will now just go to waste. Still, it'll give me another reason to whinge at them at renewal when the k810i comes out in a couple of weeks :D

Do you get any benefits when downloading via mobile service provider?

As I said above, you don`t need to pay them anything. Or is there a benefit I have missed?

    Thanks
