Post IVA Mortgage/Credit File Clean Up

Options
Hi all - any advice / help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated as right now, I feel at a little bit of a dead end not knowing where to go.

I completed an IVA in July 2011 and between now and then have been working hard to clean up my credit file - I thought I was getting close, but hit a bump in the road last week and am now concerned things aren't how I understood them to be.

I have 2 credit agreements on my credit file that both have a status of "SETTLED" but both have notes on to show it was a partial settlements (as part of the IVA), I thought these would be removed once I got to 6 years from the default date, but the first of those default dates became 6 years old last week, however, on the credit agreement section of my Equifax report it is still showing and highlighting the fact that I defaulted on it back in Sept 2006.

The 2nd is exactly the same and becomes 6 years old later this month - some extra confusion comes in from me registering with Callcredit check yesterday and neither of those credit agreements are mentioned ?

My question is, will these last 2 credit agreements be removed from my credit file 6 years from default date or 6 years from settlement date ??

All the other credit agreements that were a part of the IVA were removed from my credit file once they became 6 years old from default date so I am a bit confused.

Should they both remain on my credit file, will they still affect my credit score and ultimately my ability to get a mortgage again ? I am desperate to get out of my rented property and own my own home again and already have £11.5k towards a deposit - my credit score has gone from 307 (23/05/12 with Equifax) to 426 (14/09/12 with Equifax) to 592 (01/10/12 with Callcredit check) - do I just need to be a little more patient ?

Anyone help with any words of wisdom :)

You need to be patient as the agreements wont disappear 1 day after the 6 years, you just need to make sure that the default date is not after the start of the IVA.

I wouldnt pay for any credit scores or take any notice of them as they mean nothing as the banks have their own way of scoring you for a mortgage.

Well done in getting saving up that much, you will need at least 20% for your new home plus surveys, fees and legals to pay for too!

Experian always remove defaulted account dead on the 6 years to the day.

Equifax however can take a week or 3 to remove them.

So it's not unusual for these to still be showing up on your Equifax report for a short time. You could complain to try and hurry them up, but may not be worth the bother if they come off shortly regardless.

The Default dates are ever so slightly after the IVA start date, the IVA started in July 06, the default dates mentioned are Sept-06 and Oct-06 - will that matter ?

Probably not as it will take time for the dates to be corrected and your only couple of months away until 6 years from the oldest one.

I had a mortgage agreed 6 months before the end of 6th year so i doubt it will make any diffetence as you still need to disclose your iva to your broker/lender
