SE K750i - using 2 sims

I apologise if this has been asked recently. I have spent an hour or so searching this forum but I couldn't find an obvious answer.
I bought a payg K750i on the Tesco network a few months back and I'm thrilled with it. The only (huge) problem is the fact that I can't get a signal within a 1-2 radius of my house. I can't say this is a surprise as I my Orange payg was the same so I knew what to expect. However.........today I found out all the neighbours use Vodaphone and it works perfectly!!! So, here's what I'd like to know:
1) providing I can get it unlocked can I still use the Tesco sim but alternate it with the Vodaphone (I have about £20 of credit on the Tesco phone which I don't want to waste)
2) I know that I can change the sim/network and keep the same phone number but I'd rather do this when I've used up all the credit on the Tesco phone unless there's any way of having the same number on 2 different sim cards/networks of course.......?
Many thanks in advance.

I've just received a dual sim holder from E Bay and I'm having problems with it.
The "sim#1" end which goes in the original sim card slot on the phone has a metal clip with it. However the clip is too wide to fit inside the sim card slot in the phone as the sim card slot in the phone already has metal clips on each side which cause an obstruction.
I have tried fitting the dual sim without the metal clip but when I turn the phone on I just get an error message saying "Insert Sim" (despite the sim already being inserted)
Do I have to use the metal clip that comes with the Dual Sim card holder as if so I don't think there is any way to make it fit.
Any help greatly appreciated!0 -
Check this out, the sim card with the metal clip should go over your phone battery. Have bought two of these, they do work but unfortunately the back of the phone will not fit back. Which seller did you buy yours from?

I've tried it the other way around now and I can just about get everything back in again and get the battery cover back on at a tight squeze but unfortunately the 4 tiny wires that lead in and out of the little black box component on the dual sim holder have broken off on one side therefore it is not working and I still get the error message "Insert Sim" when I turn the phone on.
The way the thing is designed it's not possible to bend the other sim over the top of the battery but if you bend the strap in half (this seems safe enough) and put the battery on top of both sims you can just about get the lid back on.
I think I might buy another (as I doubt I'll get a refund?) and try again but I might just need to cut a small segment off the corner of the sim that normally goes on top of the battery as it rubs into the little wires that go into the small black box and may cause future damage.
This is the dual sim holder I've been using:

I have bought this one as well, and it does work with the metal part sitting on the battery like in the instructions. I have only managed to get it working once. Unfortunately, it worked only once and when I tried again, I got "insert sim" and I have also damaged the black tiny wires and it is not working now. The one from chaner200 seems more sturdy but I had problem to fit the battery cover on the phone. Bought it for Nokia 3100 and I have just managed to get it work with Nokia 2600. You should try to email the seller to complain, honestly it is so fragile and if space is tight you are bound to damage it again. What phone are you using it for. I think, if you have got a full battery cover like the nokia 2600, you can just manage to squeeze the battery cover.0

No, you cannot use both networks at the same time. E.G if you want to use orange & virgin. If your orange network is active and somebody phones you say on virgin, it will go to your voice mail voice mail. You will have to swap network by menu or power your mobile on & off depending of your dual sim adaptor. Hope this helps. It is great if you can get it to work.0 -
@ loulou41 My phone is the Sony Ericsson K750i.
It's just not physically possible to bend the strap part over the battery due to the way the battery has to go into the phone but I think it could posssibly work if both sims are underneath the battery in the holder - at least it's the only way they seem to fit in.
You just need to fold the thing in half basically. If you fold it in the middle of the strap it seems resonably sturdy there and is away from the black box with the little wires which is clearly very brittle.
I suppose it's worth e-mailing the seller as they shouldn't really break so easily.
You say you had yours working the first time then the second time it said "insert sim" was this after the wires had been damaged?0 -
When it worked first time, the wires were intact and I did not press the battery cover back firmly, it was loose. But it did work switching the phone on & off with the menu. I think you need the black box with the tiny wires to make it owrk, I have damaged mine as well. Second attempt the wires were still intact and I got "insert sim", that's why I could not understand why it is not working and whilst messing with it, the black bit came off, part of it was already hanging off. Your best bet is to buy one that will work with your sony ericcsson, and sturdier than the one you bought. I think you will have the same problem if you bought this one again with the black wires, they are so fragile. Did you check the link I posted, that's the only way it will work? Hope this helps.0

I've been looking for a dual SIM adaptor for my K750i too. The general consensus seems to be that the only ones that will physically fit are those that require the SIMs to be cut (which I'm reluctant to do). This sort of thing:
