    I had a 'ding-dong' at Asda yesterday.
I don't usually post here, but dip in and out when I can, as I have been caring for my elderly parents. Dad has recently died and mum is very ill atm.

I had some time to myself yesterday as my sister took over for a couple of hours. I had an APG £10.08 to spend and a Reloaded coupon I had downloaded so I went to a bigger Asda about 5 miles from home.

I left the Asda store in tears and deeply upset.

At the checkout I handed over my 2 coupons to the assistant. She looked at the Reloaded coupon and accused me of photocopying it.

I explained that I was sent the coupon, by email, as I 'liked' a product on Face book.
She continued to accuse me of handing over a photo copy so I replied that I didn't need the Reloaded and asked if she could take it off my bill, which she did. I was calm and polite and smiley.

She then looked at the coupon from the Asda price promise web site and started to accuse me of faking or forging the coupon.

She called over another member of staff and I was frog marched to the customer service desk.

I was told that there was something wrong with the Asda coupon and that the manager had to be called.
By this time I was really embarrassed as everyone was looking at me.

I tried to explain that I had followed the instructions from the TV advert and that I had printed out the voucher that was sent.

There was a lot of fussing and muttering, loads of phone calls but the manager couldn't be found.Quite a few other members of staff had become involved.

I was being accused of altering the apg to increase its value.

I felt so upset of being accused of this ,that I emptied my pockets and shopping bags to prove that I hadn't stolen anything.

I felt so humiliated and upset I simply couldn't stop myself from crying.

Eventually a member of staff managed to contact someone at head office , by phone, and they were told that the Asda coupon was fine.
My shopping bill was retrieved, the Asda coupon used and the balance of the bill paid by cash.

Even though I was sobbing throughout the transaction there was no apology or explanation.

This event has completely spoilt my day. I can't believe that Asda staff can treat people like this.

I was publicly humiliated and embarrassed.

I emailed Asda head office when I got home but as yet haven't received a reply.

I have one more APG £8.xx to use but I don't think I will bother.

I am very sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I had something similar happen. They accused me of being a scammer and having used photoshop to make my own APG.

The head office were very apologetic. I hope you got the names of the staff who treated you badly especially the SA at the checkout. The SA who accused me of being a scammer has been taken off checkout duty so they did take the complaint seriously.

It is awful and I hope you feel better once you have spoken to head office.

This is the number I called:

    9am - 5:30pm Saturday
    10am - 4pm Sunday
