RE: teenage sons.
Here's a thought, why don't you just leave them to it?! I know it's a bit out there but if there's wet towels on the floor so what, he'll soon start picking them up when he tries to dry himself with a cold, damp towelif his rooms a mess, leave it. Dont wash his clothes unless he's plopped it in the laundry basket, again, he'll soon learn. Harsh I know, but it's how I learnt. No, I'm not a boy but I acted like one at that age and I soon clocked on. Now I'm a clean freak and I'm quite possible even tidier than my mother, I ask her when she's going to clean her kitchen when I pop round her house....she doesn't like that
Same here. You lose them around 13-14. Eldest at 22 has started communicating again but his room is still a tip. The problem with leaving them to it is that they don't care, they will just pick up many clothes and wear them and re-use wet towels.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. took dd1 to school, then picked her back up at 11.30, as she is still not well
we are just going to slob out on the sofa and watch a film this afternoon, oh can get a takeaway tonight as we have a bomb sight of a kitchen, perfect excuse for me not to cook.

Mrs Jagger I could have written your post - every day is the same and shouting at mine produces no results. They make me quite ill and stressed to be honest.
I have come to the conclusion that others have. The key priority is to get them educated and just accept the other bits and do them yourself - easier in the end.
The reason why the education is most important is that they need that so that they can move into their own place and leave us in peace:)never stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit0 -
