Powerline help please :(

I've recently bought a powerline kit from 7dayshop and am having an issue...
I connect it all as it states in the set up guide firstly into the router then into the mains adapter etc.
Yet when I plug the router into the adapter via ethernet it doesn't show a data light.
The adapter has 3 lights... Power, Modem and Data.
When I first turn on the adapter that connects to the router the data light comes on for about 15 seconds maximum then goes off? The other one only shows power and modem but doesn't show data...
I am very confused, I have even tried them right next to eachother and they still don't link/pair or show data...
Any help really would be appreciated

You will only get a data light when you have set up both ends of the link, have you? Router to homeplug, homeplug to PC.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Yeah I think there needs to be data going through and being used before the data lights will flash. I'm sat looking at one which is connected to a switched off PS3. The data light isn't illuminated0

I've connected them both right next to each other and it says hold down the pair button on one then the other and it does nothing...
Nothing I do will get both data lights on at the same time??0 -
But have you tried using them to link two devices? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

I've had a set in the house for almost two years and i've got no idea what the lights on them are doing, but I know they work! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

As already stated in post 2/3, the data light will only illuminate when data is being transferred. So test it and see.No free lunch, and no free laptop
