So, now I'm on a £60K mortgage. The temptation to pay another penny off to get it to the fifties is difficult, but waiting will make next month's payment so much more exciting for me as another full thousand drops off. greenstars.gif

There is a psychology experiment with kids looking at deferred gratification. They could have one sweet now or wait a while and get two. You'd have waited for two. I'd have gobbled the first then denied they gave me it :o.

I went into Boots yesterday and they have a great few offers going on. The Gok Wan vanity bag with items was half price and good value for what you get. They also have the No.7 ranges at half price (£50). If you spend £50 in Boots at the moment they'll give you £12 worth of points on your card. I was so tempted but no longer buy on impulse so need more time to think about it. I do think the No.7 range will save me money next year though so am still considering it. It's on sale until next Tuesday apparently so there's plenty of time.
Not listening not listening not listening :rotfl:. I use No. 7 cosmetics and their good face stuff and find it really good, except the eye pencils which are far too hard.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

so glad you are starting to feel better :D i haven't been doing very well on the cutting down caffine yet (or the alcohol!!:o:o) but will get myself sorted soon....I have a 'do' at a friends at the weekend so intend to make next week the week that I get 2 litres of water down my neck every day, I'm going on to either nettle or green tea rather than lattes (which will cut my sugar intake down by about 2kg a week!!) and get back in control of my house...aargh!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

(oh, by the way, not convinced you were not influenced by the lushness of that tourist....methinks you lie!!!!:rotfl:)

I have a great book that details the perils of sugar! But I've had to stop reading it as it makes me crave chocolate!!!!! :o I was the same with supersize me and other stuff I read where I'd really want what they were telling me was terrible. But I also believe it was watching things like that and fast food nation that eventually turned me vegetarian overnight!

Me? Influenced by lushness???? .... and lush he really was! You're right too! Normally when I see someone looking a bit lost I just try to look approachable in case they want to ask for help, but I brazenly went straight up to him and asked if he was ok! That's naughty, isn't it? ;)

    Hi Gallygirl,

That's a new one for me not looking for instant gratification. Your theory did make me laugh. :D

I agree on the No.7 range although I've never used their eye pencil. Their moisturiser is the best for my skin.

Hi there, new to the forums and just came across this post. Was wondering what sites you use for surveys and things? I seem to have signed up to an awful lot lately but thought I'd best keep it down to just a few to use regularly. So which ones do you recommend?
    Hello there,
I prefer the 2 sites I mentioned. My Survey and Valued Opinions, but you do get bumped off a lot of them so need to stick with it.

Thanks. :D Swagbucks seems to be taking up most of my time now though but think I'll maybe try some other sites too. :)

Swagbucks gets good reviews on here so if that works for you then I think they're more consistent at payouts than random surveys that I get.

SuperPoints is quite similar (I think) and you can join through my link if you'd like to

I set up my mortgage op spreadsheet yesterday for when my OP's really get pushed forward in the New Year. A lot of things I'm doing at the moment are with a view to a nice big OP on 31 December 2012 so I can update my MFiT(3) starting point and then cnosistenly hack away at the balance as often as possible. At the moment I've decided to just take £1K off a month in order to get a nice starting OP ready.

I've also updated my salary tab to list along the side actual payments out. So I know that when all DD's and payments are out this month that I'll still be in the black.

Today should be another NSD for me, but the weekend won't be as I'm out all day tomorrow and need shopping on Sunday. But that should set me up for a few good NSD's next week. I'm hoping for at least 3 there!

My healthy eating plan is going well and I've lost 1lb in a few days so happy that I'm on the right track there too.

Right, that's my update sorted. On with work now!

    Happy Friday everyone!

Mine too!! I have decided to put all my op's off my mortgage balance from next year rather than in my offset savings....it's soooo much more satisfying watching the mortgage balance come down than the savings go up!! :rotfl:

I don't believe they expire. I'm quite erratic on how often I play and my points are always there.
