Hello all.
I am new to all these ventures. I have just recieved my free PAYG Orange Simm Card to take advantage of the free orange wednesdays. Can I put this in my usual phone and register it? If doing so will it then stop my main o2 sim working on my main phone? Or do I need to use a seperate old handset for this sim?
Any help appreciated.
Ian.

If your other handset is unlocked you can put the Orange SIM in it and use it for calls etc. To use it for Web, Email etc you'll need to switch the Connectivity Settings on the phone that can get a bit messy at times.
If your other phone is an O2 Phone you'll probably find it is unlocked as I am yet to see a O2 Phone that has been locked to their Network.Cheers

Thanks sjc.
Does that mean that when I put my O2 sim back in everything will be normal and not affected?0 -

That will certainly be true whatever the case. The original SIM card and the phone aren't changed at all just by replacing it!0 -

Two for the price of one at most cinemas every Wednesday if you text "Film" to 241 from an Orange phone. You can also take advantage of the offer by signing up for Orange internet access (including the no subscription dialup service) which might be an easier way to get the offer if you're not already a customer!0 -

That isn't strictly true. If you have a newer style phone in the mid to upper range it may ask to download connectivity settings. If you're on O2 and then put an Orange sim in it may download the new Orange settings. Which means that when you put the O2 sim back in, it the web connection will fail.
As sjc has said, you can manually change it back, but it can get it bit messy, especially if you're not au-fait with the settings. That said, if it's a basic phone, it wont change anything.0 -
True, I suppose but you can cancel the update or you could on my SE K800i, but then the reverse also applied. Put the O2 SIM back and and it downloads their settings.Cheers
