mobiles - cashback by multiple redemptions? + mobiles.co.uk is it safe?

Hi everyone

My Husband is looking for a mobile, he went on moneysupermarket.com and saw these deals,

cashback by multiple redemptions - anyone know what that means, or how it works?

Also has anyone used the companies on moneysupermarket.com like mobiles.co.uk and are they safe?

Thanks very much

Very many people used them. I can't say that all companies listed at moneysupermarket are equally safe, but Mobiles.co.uk are pretty safe and for the majority everything goes very smooth if they understand the T&C and stick to them. However, you have to be prepared to be persistent and ultimately threaten them with court actions. This is just because of their incompetence, not because they are crooks.

  • Thanks very much Grumbler, I have passed that info onto my Hubby

I can say from my experience that the site is ok to use i am just coming up to the end of a 2 year contract (thats what brought me back to the forums) and i signed up for a 2 year contract @£15 per month after multiple cashback redemtions the cost was £7.50 per month. Not bad.

i received several cheques over the past two years the only thing you have to do is keep on top of what months bills you need to send them. Although this can be done by sending a .pdf copy downloaded from the internet. Really easy and cashback is always the better offer to take.

Always a dangerous assumption with any cashback contract/dealer. CPW have a LONG history of being "easy" most of the time and then stuffing up (as they are at present, in fact) or (worse) trying to get out of paying by dishonest means. It IS fine provided you follow all the groudrules and don't take a simplistic approach. At present, that's especially the case if you have multiple contracts as opposed to multiple claims spread over two years.

My wife has her phone with them and has found the service fine. She missed the cut off for 1 cashback (not mobiles.co.uk fault) and they e-mailed her to explain why it wasn't being paid and what months she needed to send in the future
  • Stay well clear of CPW and associated companies with cashback deals. I have had nothing but trouble for six months with E2save and now Mobiles.co.uk. I think money must be tight and they are trying to wriggle out of paying cashback. Received email from Mobiles.co.uk saying claim rejected because earlier claim overpaid (which it wasn't). No explanation or dates. So be warned cashback at your peril.
  • Or follow the groundrules and get paid.
