    LG Optimus 109 x 54.5 x 12.7 mm
    G300 122.5 x 63 x 10.5 mm
    Sony Xperia GO 111 x 60.3 x 9.8 mm
    Sony Xperia U 112 x 54 x 12 mm

If you want something smaller. Xperia Tipo/ Optimus L3/ Galaxy Y are on top of my head.

    Xperia GO has micro SD

the optimus black is slightly bigger than that at 122x64x9.2

had a look at those others in my search but they all get terrible reviews! the xperia active/mini get much better reviews (apart from the battery)

The ones for the Xperia U and Go I've seen are good, but it depends on what you're looking for. U has no microSD slot, and Go has no replaceable battery. Both have low battery life.

The Active & Mini seem to only have single core processors.

yeah, sorry I meant the other small ones cisco had recommended.
not that worried having a single core on a tiny phone as it won't be getting heavily used, but battery and processor are more important as the screen gets bigger

Ah. Have you looked at the HTC One V? Seems to be a good phone but is single core. It's a tad over £200 though. Although personally I think it's too much when you can get a dual core for cheaper.

Yup, those small phones are not very good. But put it another way round, if you are going to have a tablet for surfing internet, your phone is purely use for make a call/ texting/ 3G tethering for your tablet. A small low-end android phone will serve the purpose
