Always recommend opening e-savers on the phone. Much quicker than online. It's an 0800 number too.

0800 032 4601, according to santander.co.uk (you are allowed to use their website)

Never use Firefox for Santander banking website as i remember not seeing right hand menu at all in Firefox but its visible in IE on my online account

Strange. I use no other browser than Firefox. My application for Santander's Esaver, completed online, posed no problems whatsoever. Similarly using their website with Firefox.:)

Use Internet Explorer - I seem to remember I had the same problem with Firefox and Chrome.

You were lucky. All Santander sites have trouble with any browser but IE, and with screen sizes. When I first applied to work with them, I had to go through a whole online questionnaire (credit check etc.), and tried it on my Asus eeePC netbook running ubuntu & FF. Half of the pages I needed to view just didn't display properly, elements missing, bits of the page I couldn't scroll to. Nightmare.

well, i use Santander Online banking in Chrome (sometimes FF) all the time, without problems.

i think it's mostly stuff like applications, and in Naf's case job application pages, that cause trouble in non-IE browsers.

but the day to day use of online banking works fine for me in Chrome, never had any issues.

    only the esaver application :)
